GOLDEN DELICIOUS
The Golden is a good size apple, with an average weight of 170-190 grams
and an elongated cone shape. It’s yellow coloured in proximity of the
collection and it is extremely suited for a long storage. The shape of the fruit
is particularly influenced by the cultivation background. An hilly ambient
favors the formation of natural giberelline that result in a significant
lenghtening of the vertical axis, also making the pit calicina average deeper.
The epidermis (skin) is smooth or slightly rusty, yellow-green or bright yellow
coloured, with visible and well distribute lenticels.
In the presence of temperature drops and high
relative humidity in the period before ripening, this
apple tends to have a pink blush, the so-called
“facet”. The pulp is cream color and it is firm and
crisp, juicy, slightly tart, very aromatic and with
good sugar and sourness content.
