4. The Total number of staff is (9) with different
specialties.
5. According to the new system, the
department has three branches starting from
the third level:
a. Physical Geography.
b. Human Geography.
c. Cartographic and (GIS).
6. The Library of the Department contains
about (3500) books.
7. The department has a Laboratory of
geographic information systems (GIS).
,Aqrah, Bardarsh, Amadiyah, Duhok). Currently
its population is more than one million. Duhok
also includes some important tourist sites. It is
one of the most secure Iraqi governorates.

Important Note
Duhok University:
Duhok university is one of the most important
universities in Iraq. It was established on the
31 October, 1992. The colleges of medicine
and agriculture were the first two colleges
founded in the university. Students were
accepted in the academic year (19921993).The university currently includes (15)
colleges. On the 7the of July the University
celebrated the graduation of round (18) of its
students.
The university includes the following
colleges: Medicine, Agriculture, Humanities,
Engineering, Management and Economics,
Science, Law and Politics, Veterinary Medicine,
Basic Education , Physical Education, Nursing,
Pharmacy, Dentistry, Basics Education of Akra .

3. The fees include printing and publishing
the papers in the Journal of the University
of Duhok for Humanities ( Special issue).
4. The conference will bear the costs of
meals,
local
transportation,
and
accommodation during the days of
conference for the researcher only.
5. The researcher whose paper is accepted
will receive an invitation to attend the
conference.
6. The conference will not bear the costs of
travel for researchers inside and outside the
country.

Duhok Governorate:
Duhok governorate is located in the
northwest of Iraq between the two
latitudes (37,22,55)and(36,19,24), and the
two longitudes (44,18,15)and(42,20,55).It
covers about (10135) square kilometers.
Its surface height ranges between (300 2500 m) above the sea level. Duhok has
some series of mountains the most famous of
which are Gara, Matin, Bikher,etc.It also has
some plains the most important of which are
Sindi, Sulaivani and Akre. Moreover, it has
some big rivers such as Great Zab and
Khabur.
