This online course provided by FEMA is intent on providing guidance to 9-1-1 operators, call
takers and dispatchers on what to expect when being deployed to a disaster site.
IS-144 is an interactive web-based course.
Available via internet, formerly offered through the University of Illinois.
Prerequisites include IS-100 and IS-700.
Prepares 9-1-1 dispatchers on what to expect when they are deployed to an impacted area.
3 hour course with final exam intended to provide rigorous training.
Once complete, report training through academy or training provider.
