Before Memorial Day and after Labor Day weekend, pets
are invited to enjoy the public beaches and Boardwalk
area anytime.
However, during the summer months (Friday before Memorial
Day through Labor Day weekend), they are limited to frolic

on the north end of Virginia Beach above 42 Street and
the south end of Virginia Beach in the Sandbridge area
before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m. Pets on a leash are
allowed on the Boardwalk only from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
during the summer months.
Fido must don a leash,
and human companions
are required to clean up
after their furry friends.

If you know you’re in no shape to drive home after an
evening out and you parked in one of the Municipal

Parking Lots located at 2 , 4 , 19 , 25 streets or Rudee
Loop, get a “Do Not Tow” sticker from the lot attendant
that will allow you to leave your car overnight. If there is no
attendant, contact a police officer or call 757- 385-5600.
Put the “Do Not Tow” sticker on your windshield, and grab
a ride from a cab or a friend. You may pick up your vehicle
between 8 a.m. and noon the next day.
Municipal parking lots close at 12:30 a.m. to new entries.
You must get your sticker prior to 2:30 a.m.

A few do’s and don’ts that will ensure you have a great
time while in at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
•DO remember to remove valuables from vehicles.
•DON’T have open containers or alcoholic beverages in
public areas or in a vehicle.
•DO remember to lock your vehicle and hotel room.
•DON’T leave personal items unattended.
•DO pick up after your pets.
•DON’T have pets off-leash or on the beach.
•DO ride bikes and surreys on the bike path.
•DON’T use electric or motorized vehicles on the
boardwalk or beach.
•DO pay attention to your surroundings.
•DON’T go swimming, rafting or snorkeling more than 50
yards off-shore.
•Do have a great time in Virginia Beach.

PROGRAM
Many of the hotels and motels in Virginia Beach participate
in the Find-A-Kid Wristband Program. This free and
voluntary program helps parents quickly locate children
that wander off from their families by providing an
identification wristband at the front desk to children 10
and under.
