A Note of Appreciation from the Director
Greetings from the University of Georgia Department of Recreational Sports
and the Ramsey Student Center! After last year’s success at our first-ever
Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament, which raised over $7,500 and included
85 players from across the Southeast, we are excited to offer another great
day at the UGA Golf Course. This year’s tournament will be held Friday, April
28, and all proceeds will benefit our new student scholarship fund.
We refer to our student workers as the “Ram Fam,” short for “Ramsey
family.” As one of the largest employers on campus, with over 550 student
workers, the “Ram Fam” is an important facet of campus life. We advocate
for healthy lifestyle choices by promoting development, growth and
education through the spirit of recreation.
Over a third of the students in our “Ram Fam” are currently on need-based
aid, and require financial help to attend college. Establishing this
scholarship fund gives us a way to further support these students as they
serve the over one million visitors a year that come through our facility.
Students working in Recreational Sports programs and facilities gain
practical experience in tandem with their education that they can use in
their future professions, including customer service, conflict management,
leadership skills, and time management. With your partnership, we will be
able to not only be a part of these students’ growth, but help ease the
financial burden of their college attendance.

Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament
Friday, April 28 at the UGA Golf Course
Lunch, snacks and beverages will be provided.
Every golfer will receive a tee gift.
Format: Scramble
Four-player teams compete against one another in a scramble format. Gameplay begins with each player teeing off. The best of these tee shots is selected.
All team members then play their second shot from that location, and again
choose the best shot. Play continues in this manner until the hole is
completed. The team then records its score and maintains that format for all 18
holes.
