ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I
The Fifteenth Judicial Circuit invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of
Administrative Assistant I. This position supports the Trial Court Technology Officer.
This full-time position is based on a 40-hour work week, with a starting salary of
$33,297.93 annually.
This position will be stationed at the Main Judicial Complex located at 205 N. Dixie
Highway, West Palm Beach, Florida 33401.
In addition to the base salary, this position offers:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Working under the general supervision of the Trial Court Technology Officer;
performance is reviewed through reports, conferences and results achieved
 General administrative support for the Trial Court Technology Officer and Court Tech
department, including preparation of spreadsheets, presentation and correspondence
 Assist with day to day operations of the Court Technology department
 Assist in the compilation of statistical data using Microsoft Office
 Answer and direct phone calls
 Book travel arrangements and complete all necessary correspondence
 Assist in the procurement process and related record keeping
 Coordination of vendor contacts, contracts, quotes and invoices
 Composing reports, agendas, correspondence and business letters using proper format
 Screening telephone calls and visitors to Court Technology’s office; providing
information, resolving issues, directing callers and visitors to proper personnel
 Assisting with planning of training sessions and other programs for court technology
personnel
 Recording accurate meeting minutes
 Identify opportunities and improve efficiency and effectiveness of established
administrative procedures
 Establishing working relationships with judges, court personnel, professionals associated
with the legal community, and the general public
 Performs other duties and assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
 A minimum of one year experience in Information Technology related administrative
work is preferred
 Bachelor’s degree; additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended
educational level on a year-for-year basis
 One year of experience in business administration, office skills or related field; additional
relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience level on a year-foryear basis
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel – proficient in formatting data for reporting and charts
 Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint – ability to produce
presentations
 Knowledge of the rules of English grammar, spelling, punctuation
 Able to travel to all five courthouse locations if required
 Typing skills of a minimum of 45 wpm
 Ability to compose, proofread, and edit correspondence and reports
 Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
 Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other court personnel and outside
agencies, legal professionals, litigants, and the general public
 Must be highly organized and pays close attention to details
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work involves a significant amount of listening, sitting, standing, talking, typing and walking.
