Hottest Dance Band – The Cookies

The Cookies – named hottest dance band in northern Michigan by Northern Express will perform
weekly at Treetops Resort located in Gaylord, Michigan. Also named to the prestigious ‘Best Of’ list
presented by Northern Express, Treetops Resort captured best place in Gaylord to enjoy live
entertainment. “We are thrilled to welcome our new house band to the resort for the 2014 summer
season, The Cookies. Northern Michigan’s hottest dance band will perform each Friday and Saturday
throughout the season in Hunter’s Grille located at the top of the Resort property. We know that our
guests and northern Michigan residents will enjoy the four-piece dance band. I have enjoyed firsthand
the ‘booty shaking’ dance grooves. And believe me, The Cookies have just one goal each evening, to get
those in the Grille on the dance floor!” said Barry Owens, G.M. of Treetops Resort. The Cookies will
debut at Treetops Resort on Friday, May 2nd and Saturday, May 3rd in Hunter’s Grille beginning at 8 p.m.
The Cookies are a hot, young dance group specializing in Motown, oldies, R&B, funk, and
current top 40 dance music. They bring a virtuoso professionally attired, four-piece dance band which
includes lead, rhythm and bass guitar, flute, keyboard, various percussion instruments and drum kit.
Each Cookie is a vocalist who shares lead as well as background vocals and harmonies. The band
includes Jackey Thomas, bass guitar player and vocalist along with Richie V who plays lead guitar and
also performs vocals; while Lexi Lou performs vocals, keys, and flute. Jakey Baby plays drums and also
performs vocals. Together they bring pure, toe-tapping, hip-swinging, dance-pop gold. Guests will enjoy
hits from the 60’s like The Beatles’ Twist and Shout, Motown tunes like The Supremes’ Come See About
Me, 70’s gems like Lipps Inc.’s Funky Town, 80’s classics like Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean, or the B-62’s
Love Shack, and modern hits like Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines, Pharrell’s Happy, and Bruno Mars’
Treasure. Each song is played with obvious love an devotion to the original material, but with the fresh
energy and ferocity that only a young, gifted band can bring.
