Safety Kart
Resistance/Durability
The OTL kart is extremely solid and resistant. It was designed and built to last over time and to
withstand - with limited damage - the most severe operating conditions (continuous shocks due
to inexperienced or undisciplined drivers, accidents, track strains). We use the most refined design
and manufacturing tools (FEM structural calculations, welding certifications, crash tests, etc.) and,
through the expertise of over 20 million on-track hours, we are able to deliver a fleet of OTL Karts
that work for several years. This is the best guarantee that can be offered for your investment
(karts that were manufactured in 2001 are still working and no fleet was ever lost to scraps).
Safety OTL’s integrated safety system is of the highest level of excellence: the roll-bar integrated in the seat, the 4-point
safety belts, the foot protection bar, the lateral protection amortizing system in polyethylene and the reinforced
frontal part of the Karts represent a “virtual protective cell” against the risk of rolling over or crashes.
Furthermore, the entire body that fully covers the engine and transmission prevents scarves or long hair from
getting into the gears, therefore avoiding such dangers. A truly integrated system also complete of: a) a double
ventilated disc brake with a backup control circuit, b) an engine brake, c) a remote Kart control system, d) a
reverse function, e) an interlocking brake-accelerator, f) a led stop, g) an emergency button. Also, there are no
risks of burns due to contact with the engine (as occurs with the combustion karts) or even fires caused
by the vapors of gasoline that come into contact with the boiling tank. Finally, being able to manage
the kart from a distance (with a 4, 6 and 8 speed radio control system) significantly helps us
increase the level of safety on the tracks: the operators can stop or slow all the karts down
simultaneously or individually (in case of a dangerous driver) with single command.
Performance
The OTL Karts’ performance, in terms of acceleration and speed, was always our main source of pride. Despite the weight of the Kart, due to
the design solutions adopted to ensure resistance, durability over time and safety, OTL is not afraid to be compared in terms of performance
thanks to its most renowned combustion models, which are destined to be rented. Furthermore, the electrical engine, even and especially at
low speeds, ensures an unparalleled thrust in terms of acceleration and which is unattainable for the combustion Karts.
The OTL Storm Series Karts have three different engines:
- A 48V engine: the Prokart model and the Prokart Evo model with a differential that can be
developed for maximum speeds ranging from 75 and 82 Km/hr. (normally, the karts are set
between 80 to 95% of such speeds, depending on the tracks).
- A 72V engine: the Competition Kart model, dedicated to an elite clientèle in terms of
driving expertise, with top performances.
- A 24V engine: the Drift Kart model with reduced power for icy, compacted snow or
artificial tracks that simulate ice.
The manager can always change the programming of the Kart’s controls to increase or
decrease acceleration, the speed of the various levels or the incidence of engine breaks.
Design/”Italian Character”

OTL, a typically Made in Italy company present on all major markets worldwide represents state of
the art as far as the design of electrical karts is concerned. A strategic element, which together
with the kart’s performance, directly stimulates the emotional sphere of the kart track’s
customers, thus increasing the pleasure of the driving experience and fun.
Our company is strongly committed to research and development in terms of design
and in an entirely Italian way, with better color combinations and graphics, but
also with extreme attention to detail. Like, for example, the front led lights
(OTL was the first to adopt them worldwide) for the fun of those who
watch or take part in spectacular nocturnal races. In 2011, the Storm
series was born, delivering the “Skywalker” collection. In 2014,
OTL is offering two new Storm collections: the “Interceptor” and
“Fighter” collections.
Therefore, it is no longer a “body” of different colors, but three
separate major collections with various color combinations. For
everyone’s satisfaction.
Flexibility of the models and equipment
The Storm series offers a wide range of flexibility configurations for the various models and equipment.
It also offers great scalability: one can indeed pass, with a subsequent upgrade, from the most economical model to the most essential one (the
Prokart Storm BE) with superior configurations and equipment.
With the OTL Karts, you will always have the unique opportunity to start with the lead batteries (economical, widely used and tested) before
moving on to the more expensive lithium batteries (with an autonomy of up to 60 minutes and lower management costs than the lead batteries).
Even as far as the “sound” factor is concerned, OTL represents a real technological frontier.
Indoors, you can use the transmission chain that is not excessively noisy, but that ensures an engaging sound. Or, whether indoors or outdoors
(especially), you can install the chain transmission with which the Kart becomes absolutely quiet (a really interesting possibility because it can
solve heavy disputes with neighbors or even with the municipal authorities). However, if you want your customers to live the excitement of the
sound of a Formula 1 racing car or of their favorite Supercar, the OTL Sound System is the perfect solution! Finally, there is an outdoor Kart
configuration that can be used outdoors with heavy rain! With the OTL Karts, you can manage flexibility and versatility in a truly unique manner.
Comfort and Functionality
With an OTL Kart, even less experienced people can take part in this type of fun because we made them easy to control and drive. The driver can
get comfortable on a large and cozy seat. Thanks to the adjustable 8-position pedals and 3-position steering wheel, one - even tall people (up to
2 meters) can drive comfortably.
All of this is also supported by the presence of a differential transmission.
And, with the ergonomic cushion and pedal supports, even children (at least 130 cm tall) can drive the Karts of the Storm series!
However, OTL also thought of the Go-Kart Track Manager who requires durability, reliability, low management costs and easy access to the
mechanical and electrical parts in case of repairs and maintenance needs.
For example, the track’s mechanic can easily access the transmission, steering system, batteries, engine and control system of the karts thanks to
the simple release mechanism of the frame in a minimum amount of time compared to a combustion Kart.
Then, with the adjustable caster and camber, the front of the Kart can be perfectly regulated, thus achieving impeccable driving conditions.
Finally, the remote radio control system becomes strategic for the manager. The basic version has 4 speeds that can be set to control the Kart’s
performance on the track (speed 1 for in/out of the box, speed 2 and 3 for the less experienced drivers, speed 4 for the most experienced ones);
an advanced MSA - Multi Speed Advanced system with 6 + 2 speeds - is also available: the first six for ordinary management, the other two for
special functions, one of which is the extremely fun over boost (optional F1 plus steering wheel).
Low management costs
The electrical kart has lower management costs than the combustion karts. The first savings concern the
amount of personnel required: an OTL track with around fifty Karts only requires one mechanic
(compared to 3 or 4 for the same track, but with combustion karts). Another important
aspect in terms of savings (in case of indoor installations) is the fact that there
is no need to use a powerful fume extraction system, therefore also avoiding
having to frequently repaint the premises (no black fumes, no blackening
of the walls and ceilings). Furthermore, thanks to an accurate design in
terms of the cleaning, maintenance and replacement of the mechanical and
electrical parts, these operations are easy and quick to carry out. The OTL
Kart is designed to withstand continuous stress (even violent stress caused by
accidents). The less expensive parts will always be the first to break. The engine
used - designed exclusively for OTL - is a magnetic induction engine, therefore
without brushes and very reliable; with an extremely long life cycle and virtually
zero maintenance. Finally, the electronic control unit makes it possible to change
the management settings depending on the Kart’s behavior with respect to your
specific track, therefore reducing the consumption of electricity and the wearing of
the tires and batteries.
