Shopping List Fresh Yeast (preferably cubes) Sugar Margarine Strong White Flour Eggs Salt Instructions Ingredients Combine 2 oz. Fresh Yeast, 1 Tbsp. Sugar and 1 c Warm water. Allow yeast to activate. Place the Margarine in your mixer with the hot water, sugar and salt. Mix till margarine dissolved. Add 3 cups of flour. Then add your eggs and another 3 cups flour. Pour your activated yeast mixture in. Finally add your remaining 3 cups of flour. (Add a bit more flour if needed). Kneading Tip Instead of adding loads of flour to a sticky mixture, try pouring some oil into the mixture at the very end and knead it into the dough. This will also give you a nice clean bowl! 2 oz. Fresh Yeast (cubes are perfect) 1 Tbsp. Sugar 1 c Warm Water Combine these three ingredients. Allow yeast to activate. 4 oz. Margarine 1 1/3 c Hot Water 9 cups Flour (Strong White is recommended) 3 Eggs 1 ½ c Sugar 1 Tbsp. Salt Mixture should be soft and light. Allow to rise at least 2 hours before making your Challahs. When mixture doubles, punch down and allow to rise a little while longer. Pre-heat your oven. Bake the Challah at 180 for 10 minutes. Then lower your oven to 160 and bake for approximately another 20 minutes until golden brown on top. Do NOT over bake! We’d love to hear your feedback on this recipe!
