implementationofIPsecandDTLS.TheNESgroupconductsprojectstogetherwithindustryandacademicpartners
fromSwedenandacrosstheworld.
Thesisdescription:
Internetofthings(IoT)technologiesaregettingreadytotransformthewayweworkandlive;ifonethingcan
preventtheIoTfromtransformingthewayweliveandwork,itwillbeabreakdowninsecurity.Thegoalofthe
projectistointegrateandevaluatethestandardizedInternetKeyExchange(IKE)protocolinmodernInternetof
Thingsarchitecturesconsistingofthings(sensornodes),clouds,smartphones,andend-users.The
implemented/integratedasymmetricsecuritysolutionbasedonIKEwillbeevaluatedinasmarthomescenarioon
realYanziNetworkshardware,showninthepicturebelow.SICSwillprovidethenecessaryhardware.
SICS will also provide both background information and a certain amount of code libraries reflecting the current
status of the research project that forms the framework for this thesis. The tasks of the Masters student for this
thesisare:

LearntoprogramtheselectedembeddedsystemsplatformwiththeContikiOS.
Implementandevaluaterelevantpartsoftheframeworkontherealhardwareplatform.

Competence:
WearelookingforabrightMScstudentwhohasfulfilledthecourserequirements.GoodCprogrammingskillsare
required,asisgoodspokenandwrittenEnglish.Experiencewithcomputersecurityisaplus.
