Geogebra Lesson - Perspective Drawings
Step 0: Make sure you’ve added Geogebra to your Google Drive. Log in to your Google account using your Arrowhead email and login information. Open your Google Drive. Click the and hit the Geogebra File. Click Accept for the blue box that pops up. Right click in the graphics window and uncheck “Axes”. Step 1: Create two points by clicking on the point button . Click on the line option , and click on the small triangle in the corner. Click "line through two points" option, and draw and horizontal line through points A and B. This is your "horizon line" and points A and B are your vanishing points. Step 2: Under the same tool , find the “segment" option and draw a vertical line somewhere under the horizon and between points A and B. Step 3: Connect the top and the bottom points of your vertical line to your vanishing points using line segments . Right click on each line segment and under “object properties”, go to "style" and change the solid line to a dotted line, making your vanishing line segments dotted. Step 4: Find "parallel line" option in the toolbar and then click on the vertical segment and then a little to the right of it, that will draw a vertical line parallel to your vertical segment. Do the same to the left of the vertical segment. Make the two vertical lines dotted and then, using "intersect" option intersect the vertical lines with the vanishing line segments. While using "line segment between two points" connect the points to the right with a vertical line segment and do the same to the points on the left. (right click on the vertical lines and choose show/hide objects to hide them). Step 5: Now pay close attention! Connect the top and the bottom points of the vertical segment on the right to the vanishing point A, make them dotted. Connect the top and the bottom points of the vertical segment on the left to the vanishing point B, make them dotted as well. Step 6: Click on the point button and click on the “intersect" option to intersect the crossing line segments on the top and the bottom to obtain two points, which we will connect with a line segment. Step 7: In this step we will use a "polygon" option to connect points of each face of your rectangular prism, to create polygonal faces that we can change and manipulate. Step 8: Let's clean up our drawing, right click on all the vanishing line segments, and go to properties, and under style make the thickness of the lines very minimal, so you can barely see them. Right click on all the points and select Show/Hide objects to hide them. Hide any unwanted labels in this step as well. Step 9: Right click on the three line segments "inside" your prism to make them dotted, to imply that we can't really see them. Step 10: Right click on your polygons, and under properties choose color and change them to whatever color you want. Do the same to any line segments that did change colors. Step 11: Add a text box with your name in it ***Wherever you click is where your text will go**** Everything done and ready to submit!!
Step 12: In Geogebra, click on Edit Copy Image. A new window will pop up. Copy this image by rightclicking. Step 13: Go back to your Google Drive and click . Open a Drawing. Step 14: You must Control+V to paste your image into this Drawing. Resize so your image is on the screen. Step 15: Click the Share Button (DO NOT INVITE MRS. OBERMANN). Change the “Who has access” to “Anyone with the link” can view. Step 16: Copy the “Link to Share” url link. Step 17: Open the Google Form HERE to submit Geometry Assignments and paste the link into the url Use the assignment name below. ASSIGNMENT Name: Lastname, First Name Perspective (ex: Obermann, Alicia Perspective) Done...FINALLY.
