Saturday 18 March 2017 Come & Sing: ‘Elijah’ with guest director COLIN DAVEY Chief Examiner and Education Programme Manager for the Royal School of Church Music Workshop from 10.00am to 4.30pm at The Thomas Hardye School Theatre Queen’s Avenue, Dorchester, DT1 2ET WORKSHOP PROGRAMME Come and join Weymouth Choral Society for an exciting and inspiring day of singing at The Thomas Hardye School in historic Dorchester. The Workshop will be led by Colin Davey, Chief Examiner and Education Programme Manager for the Royal School of Church Music. Colin is a highly experienced Choral Director and organist, currently holding the position of Director of Music with Fareham Philharmonic Choir and at St Michael’s Church, Bassett, Southampton. Colin has a passion for the English Choral Tradition and has worked with adult and junior singers in many churches, schools and community settings. He also works occasionally as a composer, arranger and editor, and has had several compositions performed on television and radio. This daytime workshop will feature choruses from Mendelssohn’s popular, dramatic oratorio ‘Elijah’, through which Colin will focus on vocal and choral technique, musicianship and interpretation.
