It is a very personal time for all of us. I truly enjoy when people seem more giving and loving to others. The connection that we have when we reach out to others through cards and phone calls and get togethers is special. Being with family and friends tops the list. Happy Holidays to all! I like the music. The holiday itself has become almost meaningless (except for children), but the music endures. I love the decorations of the holiday season, they put me in a Festive mood. Twinkling lights, ornaments for the tree, candy canes, jingling bells, wreaths on doors, and of course the mistletoe. My favorite decoration is the Nativity scene, simple but powerful. Wishing you and your loved ones a Wonderful Holiday Season filled with Love, Laughter and Fun. See you in the New Year, 2014. It's colder at higher altitudes and layers of clothing are a good idea. It may feel colder or warmer depending on whether it's windy or cloudy on one hand, or sunny with still air on the other. It's best to dress in layers and wear breathable clothing, such as smart wool that keeps moisture away from the skin. Because of the thinner atmosphere and reflection from snow or water, you can sunburn much more easily than most people think. Ultraviolet light is more intense at higher altitudes. Be sure to protect your face and lips with appropriate sunscreen (at least 15 SPF), and protect your eyes with sunglasses or goggles. The Skunks will be joining ski clubs from all around Chicagoland for an exciting and fun-filled week of skiing and many great CMSC activities at Big Sky Montana. Drink water to stay hydrated. Changes in elevation cause your body to lose fluids because the air is drier at high elevations. Double your typical water intake. 7 nights lodging with 2 choices: Big Horn Condos: Total Price $1,735 Eat foods that contain carbohydrates such as granola, crackers and bagels. Avoid high-fat foods because they require the body to expend more oxygen to digest them and oxygen is already limited at high altitudes. TRIP IS WAITLISTED Hope these tips help you enjoy your time on the slopes this winter. Happy Trails.
