The fact sheets provide an up-to-the-minute account of each building project, but the dates specified are approximate and subject to change. FACT SHEET THE NEW RIGSHOSPITAL Geographic location Blegdamsvej 9 DK-2100 Copenhagen Ø Construction plots North Wing on the corner of the cadastral plot facing Blegdamsvej and Frederik V’s Vej. Patients’ hotel and administration next to the Rockefeller Complex facing Amorparken Multi-storey car park on the corner of the cadastral plot at Frederik V’s Vej and Edel Sauntes Allé. No. of square metres North Wing: approx. 54,700 m² Patients’ hotel and administration: approx. 8,000 m² Total capacity, approx. 62,700 m² Upcoming procedures Prequalification for the North Wing will take place from late January 2014. Contents The North Wing will contain beds, operating theatres and auxiliary functions for the Neuroscience Centre and the Centre of Head and Orthopaedics, as well as outpatient functions for the Centre of Head Orthopaedics. The building at the Rockefeller Complex will house a patients’ hotel with 75 beds, and Righospitalet’s administration department. The multi-storey car park will contain about 665 parking spaces and will be constructed to make it 2 possible to subsequently enlarge the facility to house a total of 1,000 parking spaces. Rebuilding of the existing hospital. No. of square metres New construction: approx. 30,560 m² Rebuilding: approx. 24,000 m² Upcoming procedures Invitation to tender for the construction contract, rebuilding: continuous from late 2014 until mid2018. Contents The new construction project comprises the establishment of a new accident and emergency department, on-call GP, paediatric department (bed ward and outpatient department), neonatal department, cardiology department (bed ward and outpatient department), obstetrics department, new main entrance and other functions, including offices and enlargement of existing underground car park adding 325 parking spaces. The rebuilding comprises the renovation and enlargement of outpatient departments for all major clinical specialities: gastrointestinal surgery and medicine, orthopaedic surgery, gynaecology, obstetrics and infectious diseases, establishment of a new oncology outpatient department, and the rebuilding of 320 four-bed rooms into single-bed 8 and two-bed rooms. No. of square metres 124,000 m² Upcoming procedures The invitation to tender for the construction contract is expected in 2016–2017. Contents The hospital is intended to house functions currently found at the hospital grounds in Hillerød and Frederikssund, including accident and emergency department; the women-and-children specialist medicine areas of obstetrics, gynaecology and paediatric departments; surgery; orthopaedic surgery; ear, nose and throat department; ophthalmology department (outpost); cardiology; nephrology; endocrinology; pulmonary medicine; infectious diseases; neurology; rheumatology; and oncology, as well as a unit for dementia and palliative care. In addition, the hospital is intended to house interdisciplinary clinical departments, image diagnostics and laboratories. The hospital is expected to house a total of 24 medical specialities and around 660 beds. Construction plots North section of the cadastral plot (including the Lersø Complex): new psychiatric building project, as well as joint outpatient departments for psychiatry and somatic medicine North-west section of the cadastral plot: new somatic medicine hospital, laboratory and logistics buildings, as well as multi-storey car park. No. of square metres Construction of new somatic medicine building (88,000 m²) and rebuilding (64,000 m²). The rebuilding comprises both listed pavilions and the Lersø Complex. Construction of new psychiatric building (27,000 m²) and rebuilding of the Lersø Complex (25,000 m²). Construction of new somatic medicine building Invitation to tender for consultancy contract (project competition), somatic medicine: prequalification will begin in early 2014. Rebuilding of listed pavilions Invitation to tender for main consultancy contract concerning refurbishment of listed pavilions: mid2015. Invitation to tender for construction contract, listed pavilions: early 2017 Rebuilding of the Lersø Complex Invitation to tender for consultancy contract concerning the Lersø Complex: mid-2019. Invitation to tender for construction contract, Lersø Complex: late 2020. Contents The Copenhagen Psychiatry Centre will be gathered in the northernmost section of the cadastral plot. The buildings in this section of the area also contain child-and-adolescent psychiatric functions. A number of outpatient departments across psychiatry and somatic medicine will be gathered in the Lersø Complex with a shared entrance and foyer functions. The building will house the somatic medicine departments in the areas of clinical physiology and nuclear medicine, mammography, pulmonary medicine and bronchoscopy and neurology. The somatic medicine building will house the new accident and emergency department with ambulance receiving area, surgery ward with recovery, intensive care unit, emergency and outpatient x-rays, as well as all the bed units for all specialist medicines with the exception of palliative care, venereology and dermatology. The laboratory and logistics building is intended to supply both the somatic medicine and psychiatry departments. In addition a clinical biochemical laboratory and shared research facilities will be placed in the building. Also, 1,100 parking spaces will be established at the cadastral plot in a multi-storey car park, an underground car park and on an outdoor groundlevel car park. No. of square metres Approx. 25,000 m² (neurorehabilitation building). Upcoming procedure An invitation to tender for the construction of the neurorehabilitation building will be carried out in the first half of 2016. Contents A new neurorehabilitation building will be constructed to house the region’s neurorehabilitation specialists. The building is intended to include bed wards, outpatient departments and rehabilitation facilities (both outdoors and indoors). In addition, a multi-storey car park, an emergency power system and refrigeration centre will be built.
