You think you know what happened – beatings, betrayals, mockery, a cross, some nails, and death. But that’s just the surface of the story. What if you could get past the commonly recognized pieces of the account that tells how and why Jesus Christ died – the story everyone thinks he or she already understands? What if you could discover the heart, humanity, emotion, and meaning of Jesus’ every encounter along the way from Gethsemane to Golgotha? Noted Bible teacher Rick Renner draws a brilliant backdrop to the passion of Jesus Christ, interjecting fresh insights into the human and divine drama that took place in Jerusalem more that 2,000 years ago. Facebook and Twitter is one of the most amazing inventions of our time. It allows one to connect with friends and family via the internet. We can follow their day, see what they are thinking and planning for the day. The problem with social media is that it causes us to divest emotionally and the real relationship suffers. Social media is creating transactional relationships not transformational. Relationships are critical in all of our pursuits of life, physically, emotionally, financially and yes spiritually. The question is this, are your relationships transactional or transformational? Transactional relationships are shallow, impersonal, have a defined end in mind, when the stated needs are met. Transformational relationships are relationships that have a foundation built on love, respect and a desire to reciprocate what has been received in the relationship. Transformational relationships change lives. They are sacrificial. Transformational relationships look out for the interests of others. In transformational relationships are make change possible, for all involved. FCA Mission To present to athletes and coaches and all whom they influence the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church. In the story of David and Jonathan we find a transformational relationship. We find two friends who love each other dearly, who trust each other and who look out for each other. In fact the story reveals that from a positional perspective Jonathan was the king’s son, he was the next in line to be the king. Jonathan however, saw something in David and encouraged him to be all that God called him to be, even if it meant he would not be the next king. That is a transformational relationship. That is putting one’s ego and ambitions aside for someone else. Wow! That sounds like what Jesus did on the cross! He put His needs aside for our needs.
