March 2016
Troy Sports Center Field Trip
During February we continued our
ice investigations. The children built
ice sculptures, made crushed ice for
snow cones, and participated in the
pretend play ice arena. As the
children’s interest began to change, we
used the field trip as a meaningful way
to conclude our study Children were
provided real life experiences to
further develop concepts introduced in
the classroom.
What I like about Pre-K Valentine
To create a meaningful connection to
Valentines Day, children were asked to
write what they like about Pre-K. They
then shared their Valentine during large
group time. Through this project children
built on their to the understanding that
their ideas can be written and then read
by themselves or others.
Moving into March
Moving into March we will explore
families based on the interest of the
children. We will discuss the many
different types of families including
animal families, different types of homes,
family members and introduce new
vocabulary.
Opportunities will be available for
family members to come visit and join us
for cooking, singing, reading or sharing a
favorite hobby with the children. A sign
up calendar will be located on the parent
board.
Thank you to the following parents for visiting our classroom to share time with the children.
Mr. Sasazaki, Mrs. Verbena, Mrs. Jensen and Mr. , Mrs. Singh, Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Bush
