INCREDIBLE footage has been filmed of a wild dolphin in Hawaii coming to
a diver to ask for help.
In the footage, the wild bottlenose dolphin swims
up to the diver, Keller Laros, and clearly displays
his fin, which is tangled in some fishing line.
Keller explains: “The way he came right up and
pushed himself into me there was no question this
dolphin was there for help.”
There was a fishing hook lodged in the dolphin’s
flipper and the fishing wire was wrapped around
the fin, making it difficult for it to swim. There was
also a fishing line coming from the animal’s mouth.
The dolphin patiently floated next to the diver for
around eight minutes while he used diving tools to
cut the wire and remove the hook from its flipper
and also cut the wire from its mouth.
The footage was taken when a group of divers
from Manta Rays Hawaii were on a dive looking
for manta rays. They heard the cry of the dolphin
before it swam towards them.
