Parking Requirements at St Patrick`s Basilica Campus

Parking Requirements at St Patrick’s Basilica Campus
School starts at the Basilica Campus at 8:30am and finishes at 3:00pm.
IN THE MORNING
Street side parking is available and is FREE till 9:00am. This is on
Point
Parry
Ellen
AFTER 9:00AM parking is not free. Please purchase tickets.
Paid parking is also available at the Woolworth’s underground car park. The entry is via Adelaide
Street. If you spend $10 at Woolworth’s Fremantle, you get $2.00 back on your parking.
We encourage parents to use the drop off zone or kiss and drive in the morning. This is accessed
via Adelaide Street driving past the loading bay of Woolworth’s. Do not under any circumstance
park in the angled car park bay near the kiss and drive. This is permit parking for St Patrick’s staff
during school hours. The staff have parking permits on their windscreens. Although we have
many full time staff, some staff have later starts or only work part time. If parents park in the staff
bays (even for a few moments) it forces staff to try and find paid parking and possible delays to
their start time. The angled car park staff bay is owned by Wilson’s Parking. They patrol this
Carpark before, after and during school time and will give you a $60 fine if parked there without a
permit and or/wheel clamp your car.
We thank you for your understanding on this matter.
As we have a new entry to the school on the Ellen street side at the administration office, parents
have also used that area as a kiss and drive. They drive to the gates on Ellen Street, the children
exit the car and enter the gates to the under cover area.
After 8:35, the only entry to the school is via Ellen Street. This is our duty of care to make sure all
other exits of the school are locked and to ensure the Administration Staff can see who enters the
school.
IN THE AFTERNOON
Paid parking only on
Point
Parry
Ellen
Or pay at the underground car park at Woolworth’s.
DRIVE THROUGH PICK-UP via Parry Street in the afternoon
In the afternoon, parents are welcome to drive through to collect their children. At 3:00pm the
Parry Street gates will be opened. At bell time each class group lines up to the right of the drive
through area and sit waiting for their parents. Parents enter via Parry Street, driving through the
under croft area. The Assistant Principal will ask your child’s name and the child will be escorted
to the car.
We would like the older grades (Year 4-6) to be collected at 3:10. This staggers pick up to ensure
that we do not block Parry Street for other traffic nor contravene any road rules.
WET WEATHER PROCEDURE IN THE AFTERNOON
The same procedure applies to the above, with the exception that the children will be seated in
the undercover area to be collected. Traffic cones will be placed to show where the parents must
drive to.
