1.5 Pythagorean Theorem
Here are the parts of a triangle:
Right Angle: this makes a 900 angle Leg: These are the sides that are adjacent to
or connected to the right angle. The legs are
always the shortest sides.
Hypotenuse: This is the side opposite the right
angle. It is always the longest side.
The Pythagorean Theorem can only be used
on right triangles (triangles with right angles)
The Pythagorean Theorem states that:
