OXXO Clients Collect 1.3 million pesos for Civil Associations in Monterrey

The money was donated during November and December of 2016, through its OXXO Customer
Rounding Program
100% of the collected money was given to the beneficiary institutions.
Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, January 26th, 2017.- OXXO gave out $1,360,702.29 million pesos to different
civil associations in Monterrey seeking to address social and health problems. Joined by Rolando
Mireles, Monterrey OXXO Operations Manager and Cordelia Portilla, FEMSA Comercio’s Head of Social
Responsibility, the beneficiary institutions received in full the money raised throughout the months of
November and December of 2016, in an event that took place at Sociedad Cuauhtémoc y Famosa’s
Family Garden.
The amount awarded is the result of OXXO’s Customer Rounding Program, which has raised awareness
on the communities’ needs, as well as being a solidarity link between these communities and local
institutions through fundraising campaigns.
“We are strongly committed to the economic, social and environmental development of the
communities we are part of. In this sense, OXXO’s Customer Rounding Program is an example of our
constant efforts to support our society’s improvement”, said FEMSA Comercio’s Head of Social
Responsibility, Cordelia Portilla.
Rolando Mireles, Monterrey OXXO Operations Manager, acknowledged the program’s importance
when commenting that “the delivery of these donations makes us proud and motivates us to keep
joining efforts with local institutions that have a positive impact on society by benefitting and helping
our communities”.
Among the beneficiary institutions is Refugio 21, Casa Hogar, A.C., whose goal is to provide a home for
children and adolescents who are at risk, so that they can later reintegrate them safely and healthy to
a new family.
“We are infinitely grateful to each of the people who make the OXXO Customer Rounding Program at
Monterrey possible. Thank you for giving us your unconditional support and working hard on behalf of
the different civil society organizations that work to provide equal opportunities to those less
fortunate. We are also very grateful to each of the clients that made it possible to collect this amount,
which will allow us to fully comply with our hospitality, food, clothing, education and health programs,

as well as acquire a vehicle for transportation and thus offer our beneficiaries a better quality of life”,
said Refugio 121, Casa Hogar A.C. representative, Moisés Salinas Coronado.
Voces de Esperanza A.B.P. and Voluntarias Vicentinas de Mty., A.C. (Hogar San Vicente de Paúl) were
also two benefited institutions. The first one promotes the love for classic music in children, as well as
delivering pantry, clothing, school supplies, backpacks and uniforms. The second one protects, feeds
and serves elderly people who have no family or economic means to survive.
Juntos Sillatón, an institution who focuses on raising awareness on motor disability as well as
improving the quality of life of children and young people suffering from this illness who require a type
of specialized chair but don’t have the means to acquire it, also received a donation.
“We are very happy to have been considered for OXXO’s Customer Rounding Program and we would
like to thank all the people that are working on OXXO stores for inviting the clients to round up their
bill and donate, as well as to all the people who did. With the donation we receive today we’ll be able
to buy 45 specialized wheelchairs for children with motor disabilities”, said Juntos Sillatón, A.C.
representative, Helena Torres.
