Figures are estimates given by Host University. Figures were given in host currency and converted to United States Dollars using a floating exchange rate. As of 8/5/16 1 Euro (EUR) = 1.10808 (USD) Orleans also includes a mandatory fee for exchange students of 80 Euros for operating costs. Accommodations are calculated as an average from the options given from the University. These range from around 200 to 500 Euros per month. There is a required housing insurance for all accommodations for 30 Euros per semester. Meals are budgeted for around 200 Euros per month. Local Transportation is an estimated cost for around 150 Euros per semester. Please budget for university books for around 100 Euros a semester. International Health Insurance is required. The Global Emergency Coverage is the minimum. Private health insurance is also accepted. Affiliation to the French Social Security system is mandatory. Includes medical insurance for nonEuropean citizens over a 3-month study period for 217 Euros. Personal Expenses are calculated for around 175 Euros per month. Student Visa is required in France for students studying more than 3 months. Personal appearance is required at the French consulate in Chicago. This is not included in this budget. Visa application and processing fee (non-refundable) is the U.S. dollar equivalent of 50.86 Euros. Airfare is an estimated average price from over 5 different airlines. Dates ranged for five months for the duration of the semester. Travel to Orleans may incur an extra bus or train expense. Please note extra travel expenses, cell phone, internet, etc. are not included. Budget accordingly. * Tuition and Fees are based on the Resident rate for 12 undergraduate credit hours at Wichita State University. Students will pay their current tuition rate during the study abroad program based on their residency and any specific college/department requirements such as the business & engineering fees.
