After huge August numbers, September shrimp imports; released late last week, are up a modest
1.7%. YTD imports are 3.3% higher, more shrimp but seemingly not overwhelming. Indian imports
are up substantially at 15.1% for the month and 9.3% YTD. Last year Indian imports were up 25%
for the year so their shrimp production appears to show a strong upward trend. Most of the other
major shrimp supplying countries were also higher with the exception of Ecuador that was way
down. Mexico was also down sharply in what: I believe, should be their first farmed production
month. HLSO imports including easy peel were up 3.3% for the month of September and 2.1%
higher YTD. Indian imports in that category were down while Indonesia imports; mostly easy peel,
were sharply higher. Under 15 and 21-25 count imports were down for the month. 26-30 through
51-60 were higher while smaller counts were lower. Peeled shrimp were up 3.5% for the month
and 7.4% YTD. Cooked was down 4.4% for the month but remains 5.3% higher YTD.
Latin American 21-25, 26-30, 41-50, and 51-60 HLSO white shrimp are barely steady to weak amid
a generally lackluster buying interest. Larger count shrimp are about steady while smaller counts
are full steady.

Asian 16-20 and 21-25 HLSO white shrimp are barely steady to weak with a few lower offerings
also noted on 26-30. Smaller count shrimp are steady.
E
L
31-40 count and smaller Asian white peeled shrimp are full steady to firm. Under 15 and 16-20
count are somewhat mixed but remain steady with a few lower offerings noted.
16-20 count and smaller black tiger shrimp, both HLSO and peeled, continue full steady to stronger
as some offerings are noted higher. Replacement offering remain few and firm.
Gulf Domestic Shrimp: The headless shell-on, PUD and P&D markets continue to go unchanged.
Steadier raw material prices, premiums that have developed over imported shrimp and generally
lackluster spot buying all weigh on the market. Additionally, reports of increased PUD production
has surfaced and we’ve noted some discounting offerings; especially in the smallest count sizes.

Latin American wild white shrimp are barely steady especially Under 10 and Under 12.
Warm Water Lobster Tails: The markets were largely unchanged, with the exception of slight
firming on 3 oz. Brazil tails. A firm bias persists given ongoing supply concerns. Imports of warm
water lobster tails are down 31.6 percent for the month and remain down 30 percent year-to-date.
North American Lobster: The tail and meat markets were once again unchanged.
Live Lobster: Hard shell lobsters adjusted lower on all sizes; supplies are adequate for a dull
demand. 1 ¾ lb. lobsters were added to our live lobster quotations to better reflect current
industry product specifications.
Pulpo: A new quote series has been added for origin of Spain.

Fresh Whole Fish: Production remains limited on imported yellowtail and lane snappers; prices
adjusted higher. Supplies of imported Atlantic grouper and tuna were tight causing an upward
trend in prices.
Western Fresh Fish: Inclement weather hindered production causing rockfish prices to adjust
higher. Halibut prices were unchanged; however, supplies are limited as the 2016 season ended
November 7th.
