5K, 2-MILE RUN/WALK, & 50/25/10 BIKE RIDE

About the Event: This race was founded by the Dalessandro family in memory of their son and brother, Rich Dalessandro. who passed
away after a strong battle with leukemia. The race will run throughout the Village of Dalton, where Rich was from. Proceeds will be
split between The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help fund research for this disease and local families battling leukemia.
Event Description: We are a 2016 Subway Challenge Series Tier 2 Event. This is a family friendly event that is fun for everyone
with a Health Fair from 7-11am, DJ, raffles, donuts & cider, and much more! Post-race massages will also be offered for participants!
There will be multiple basket raffles and you can purchase tickets for $2 each, 3 for $5, 8 for $10, and 20 for $20 to benefit the
above mentioned causes. AGAIN THIS YEAR: 50/25/10 Bike Ride, complete with SAG and ride support! See online for more info.
Registration: Register by mail or online at www.runsignup.com. Preregistration by Oct 1 is $25; by November 4 is $30 and race day
registration is $35. Special discounts apply (see info online) and No T-shirt Options. Race day registration and packet pickup will begin
at 7:30am race day morning. Again this year we will offer Friday night packet pick-up with spaghetti dinner!
Bike Rides: See online for suggested start times. The 10 mile will be a family friendly ride on the Sippo Valley Trail.
Team Challenge: Largest team wins, time doesn’t matter! Team members can be in either the 5k or 2-Mile Run/Walk
Kid’s Fun Run at 8:40am: Kids run ~400 meters with Tom Turkey! Every kid gets an award! No charge! Sign up online.
Jogging Stroller Division! Award for the winner in both the 5k and 2-mile! Regular strollers welcome!
Incentive Categories: My 1st 5k, Pregnant/Up to 1-year Postpartum, Wheelchair, Cancer Survivor and Longest Bike Ride
Location/Time: The race will begin at Dalton Elementary & Middle School and is located just off route 30 between Massillon and
Wooster. Address is 250 North Church Street, Dalton OH 44618. Expanded parking this year! See online for start time of each event.
Awards/Giveaways: All preregistered runners and walkers will receive a short-sleeve tech or long-sleeve cotton T-shirt. No guarantee
for shirts on race-day. Overall winners of 5k/2-mile get a frozen turkey and 1-hr massage gift cert! Top 3 overall of 5k/2-mile get a
Vertical Runner gift cert! Unique wooden awards created by Star Laser will be given to the top 3 overall in the categories Walkers,
male/female 5k, & male/female 2-mile run and the top 3 in each of the following 5k and 2-mile run/walk age groups: 1-9, 10-14,
15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 & older. There will also be awards for the
oldest and youngest participants. All event participants can also enjoy donuts and cider, post-race Subs, chocolate milk,
apples/bananas & more, and will be entered into drawings for a variety of giveaways. Each participant will receive a large “Goodie Bag.”
Chronotrack Timing: All runners will be timed with their bibs. Results will be available at www.ohiochallegeseries.com on race day.

I, the undersigned, realize that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and
properly trained. I agree to abide by any decisions of a race official relative to safely completing the run. I assume all risks associated in running this
event, including, but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, traffic, and the conditions of the road, all such
risks be known and approved by me. Having read this waiver, and knowing these facts, and in consideration of you accepting my entry, I for myself and
anyone entitled to act in my behalf, waive and release the Dalessandro family, the race committee, all sponsors, their representatives and successors,
all volunteers, and the Village of Dalton, from all claims of liability of any kind arising out of my participation in this event. I hereby grant full
permission to any or all of the foregoing to use my photographs, video tapes, motion pictures, recordings, and any other record of this event for any
legitimate purpose. All race entries are non-refundable. We reserve the right to reject entries.
