This year, uprising sixth graders are going to prepare for their first world
studies class. In an effort to get ready, the sixth grade teachers have put
together this packet to help you feel confident and ready. Please
complete and turn in this packet to your 6th grade social studies teacher
during the first week of school. Have fun!
Activity 1: Attached are maps of the four regions we will be
studying in 6th grade. Please label as directed below.
Social Studies Standards: IDENTIFY and LABEL the 7 world continents and 5
world oceans.
SS6G8: The student will locate selected features of Europe.
a. Locate and label on a regional political- physical map: the Danube River, Rhine
River, English Channel, Mediterranean Sea, European Plain, the Alps, Pyrenees,
Ural Mountains, Iberian Peninsula, and Scandinavian Peninsula.
