Morning Line Up and Pick Up
Pre-Kindergarten through First Grade students will report to the
Cafeteria where supervision will be available starting at 7:40 a.m.
Students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and first grade will be picked up by their
teachers by 8:15 a.m.
The 10th Annual Miami International
Agriculture, Horse & Cattle Show (MIAHCS) to
be held April 14 through 16, 2017.
To disseminate information about the 10th Annual Miami International
Agriculture, Horse & Cattle Show (MIAHCS) to be held April 14 through
17, 2017.
Second Grade and Third Grade students will report to the ESE Building
where supervision will be available starting at 7:40 a.m. Students in
second and third grade will be picked up by their teachers by 8:30 a.m.
Fourth Grade students will report to the Media Center where supervision
will be available starting at 7:40 a.m. Students in third and fourth grade
will be picked up by their teachers by 8:30 a.m.
The Office of Miami-Dade County District 10 Commissioner Javier D.
Souto invites you to the three-day show coordinated to promote Florida
agribusiness industries on an international level.
The event will be held Friday, April 14 through Sunday, April 16, 2017 at
the Ronald Reagan Equestrian Center at Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th
Street, Miami, Florida; and will attract agribusiness interests from Latin
America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and Australia along with business
representatives and visitors from throughout the United States. See

Students in fifth through eighth grade will be picked up by their teachers

Featured will be showcases of horticulture products, cattle, and other
livestock, as well as entertainment such as: 5 Star Rodeo, Jousting &
Sword Fighting on Horseback, Bull Riding, Team Roping, Dancing &
Leaping Spanish Andalusian Horses, Plants and Flower Displays,
Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, Kids Fun Zone, and Food Trucks.
Earth Day Observance 2017 and Available Supplemental
Instructional Resources
To inform principals, assistant principals and science teachers about the
observance of Earth Day 2017 and available supplemental instructional
resources, to include #MDCPSEarthDay live Twitter chat.
All proceeds of this event will benefit the South Florida Autism Charter
School, a nonprofit organization that provides free services to qualified
recipients in Miami-Dade County.

The Department of Mathematics and Science is providing principals,
assistant principals and teachers with information regarding the observance of
Earth Day 2017 and the available supplemental resources, to include
#MDCPSEarthDay live Twitter chat.

Tabares Hantman on February 15, 2017, requested that staff proclaim April 22,
2017 as Earth Day in all Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) - see

2017 myON Spring Break Reading Challenge
The purpose of this briefing is to inform administrators and teachers
about the 2017 myON Spring Break Reading Challenge.

The M-DCPS Department of Science wants to ensure that students,
parents, and staff remember to appreciate nature and learn ways to help keep the
planet clean and protect our environment.
Instructional Technology and the English Language Arts/Reading
Department, in collaboration with myON, are encouraging all students in
grades PreK through 8 to participate in the 2017 myON Spring Break
Reading Challenge to promote the continued development of critical
reading skills.

Therefore, the Department of Science, in collaboration with NBC Learn and
a panel of environmental experts, will host a live twitter chat on Friday, April 21,
2017 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
·
Teachers, students, and parents are encouraged to join in
through their twitter accounts using #MDCPSEarthDay.

The Reading Challenge is for students in grades PreK through 8.

Instructional Technology and the Mathematics Department, in
collaboration with Reflex, are challenging all students in grades 2 through
8 to be a part of the 2017 Reflex Math Spring Break Ninja Challenge to
promote the continued development of basic math fact fluency.
2017 Reflex Math Spring Break Ninja Challenge Details:

The Math Challenge is for students in grades 2 through 8.
·
It will run from Friday, April 7, 2017, through Monday, April 17,
2017.
·
The top seven (one per grade level) Reflex Math Ninja District
Champions will be awarded a Reflex Prize Package based on their
performance on ALL three of the following categories:
1. “Highest Green Light Percentage”
2. “Highest Average Daily Use”
3. “Most Facts Gained”

Schools of the top seven winners will be notified via email.
·
Teachers must have classes set up in order for students to begin
mastering their basic math facts.

BUS PICK-UP AREA
Students should be escorted by a staff member to the designated bus
pick-up area during dismissal. At no time should students be sent
unsupervised. Students that are unaccompanied by an adult will be sent
back to their teacher.
