Dear Parents,
Stars of the Week
The weather
The forecasters said the snow was coming and although
it looked like a lot of rain at first we certainly did have
some snow yesterday. The icy conditions meant that
the playground was like an ice rink and I would like to
thank you all for being patient and using the front
entrance this morning.
I would also like to say a big thank you to Mr Whiting
for clearing and gritting a path from the road to the
front entrance which made everybody’s life a little bit
easier.

Year 6
This term, Year 6 are learning all about the Norman
Invasion, the Battle of Hastings, The Bayeux Tapestry
and about life in Britain in 1066.
In one of our lessons, we debated which of the distant
relatives of Edward the Confessor should be crowned as
the new king and we learned how this problem in 1066,
lead to the Norman Invasion and the Battle of
Hastings….and how Harold had already fought off
Harald Hardrada when he invaded in the north.
We have looked at the Bayeux Tapestry and worked out
what it tells us about the Normans and the Saxons and
have used the historical evidence to create our own
soldiers using the colour scheme from the tapestry.
