Benchmark Rounding of Fractions:
***round the fraction to the CLOSEST 1/2 or whole***
General rules:
If the fraction is less than 1/4....round down to 0
If the fraction is between 1/4 and 1/2...round up to 1/2
If the fraction is between 1/2 and 3/4...round down to 1/2
If the fraction is between 3/4 and 1...round up to 1 whole
Special fractions that have rules:
1/4 we will always round to 1/2
3/4 we will always round to 1 whole
Examples:
1/8 is closest to 0
because 1/8 is less than 1/4
2/3 is closest to 1/2
because 2/3 is between 1/4 and 1/2
3/5 is closest to 1/2
because 3/5 is between 1/2 and 3/4
6/7 is closest to 1 whole
because 6/7 is between 3/4 and 1 whole
