Sector: Client: Value: Duration: Local Authority & Leisure Cambridge City Council £420,000 9 weeks This high profile project involved a complete strip out and refurbish-ment of the pool changing areas. This included the construction of new disabled facilities and the introduction of a “no shoe zone’ and mirrored vanity area. To achieve a clean and modern feel we created tiled feature walls and added new mood lighting throughout. New non-slip flooring and cubicles have also been added to create a multi-user friendly ‘changing village’. The project was very Challenging with its tight budget and short Programme. We worked throughout the Christmas period and finished the project in just nine weeks. This was achieved by working fourteen hour days and providing a detailed pre-start Programme. The key to success was our close collaboration with Cambridge city council, ensuring that all potential problems were identified In advance. During this short time we have formed an excellent relationship and look forward to working with them in the future. Ian Ross - Recreation Services Manager for Cambridge City Council said: “Carmelcrest have been a pleasure to work with. This was a major project in a flagship facility for the Council and Carmelcrest demonstrated the flexibility and commitment needed to ensure the project was successfully completed within a tight time line and was delivered on budget. We are very pleased with the quality of the fixtures and fittings throughout and the overall look of the completed facilities. We look forward to working with them in the future”
