WITH two, young children to feed and no job, times are tough for Abdiasis
Ahmed.
But, thanks to the St Kilda Mums, Mr Ahmed and his wife have everything they need to look after
their new baby, Hagagsan.
The Ahmeds, from Somalia, have no family in Australia to help care for Hagagsan and his older
sister, Hoodo.

Mr Ahmed said he worried about his wife getting lonely while he was out looking for work.
Mrs Ahmed said she missed her friends back in Uganda, where the couple lived before moving to
Australia.
When the Leader visited recently, the Ahmeds had just moved from another unit in Flemington,
where Mrs Ahmed had the support of the local Somali community.

Big win by Saints
"It's hard, because she misses her friends," Mr Ahmed said.
But the local maternal health nurse had been a huge support, he said, helping with everything
from counselling and vaccinations, to the toys and pram supplied by St Kilda Mums.
WITH goal attack Rahni Samason starring, the Saints
kept their Championship Division finals hopes alive
with a big win over the Monash University Storm.
"She told us if we ever need anything, just ask," Mr Ahmed said.
Mr Ahmed said he wanted to thank the St Kilda Mums.
"We appreciate what you have done for the people who do not have the opportunity to get what
they want ... and appreciate how you have helped us and everybody else," he said.
He hoped the Leader campaign would help the group and promised to return Hagagsan's pram
when outgrown, so another family could use it.
