A strategy game for 2 players (with a solitaire version for 1 player) Before you begin: Arrange the marbles on the board according to picture Object of the game: Spin and Trap is a clever strategy game which requires simple movements of marbles on the game board. The marbles are moved using rotators which “spin” the marbles. Your goal is to spin and trap 2 out of 3 green marbles by encircling them with your color marbles. Playing the game: • One player claims the black marbles, the other the white marbles. • On your turn, choose either the 3-marble or the 6-marble rotator and place it over the marbles you would like to spin. Turn the rotator in either direction and any number of spaces to change the position of the marbles. After the marbles are spun, the rotator is removed from the game board. It’s now your opponent’s turn. • Once a green marble has been trapped by one of the players, it is removed from the board and the empty spot is filled with a colored marble of the capturing player’s color. The captured green marble can then be placed in the vacated marble holder on the side of the board. Winning the game: The first player to capture 2 of the 3 green marbles is the winner. Restrictions: • Each rotation must result in a new arrangement of marbles. • You cannot use the same rotation that your opponent has just used in his/her previous move. • The 3-marble rotator must include at least one of your own color marbles in the rotation (you may not swivel 3 of your marbles or those of your opponent). • The 6-marble rotator must use either your own color marble or a green marble as its center axis. • The 6-marble rotator must remain within the boundaries of the game board at all times and never be in a position that forces a marble off the game board. • The green marble is trapped when it is surounded by 4 or more marbles of the same color. Hints: • Be careful not to inadvertently rotate your opponent’s colored marble into a winning position. If that happens, your opponent captures the green marble. • Pay attention to every move! Victory can sometimes be right in front of your eyes or hidden in a very unusual move. • Keep in mind that every rotation always affects your opponent’s position. You have to spend just as much time thwarting their strategy as you do advancing your own. Solitaire version: Arrange the marbles on the board in the same way as for the two-player game. Use the rotators to spin and trap all three green marbles. Use the same restrictions as the two-player game. 3-marble rotator movements: 6-marble rotator movements: Place rotator over 3 marbles • Rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise Note: The third picture shows a green marble trapped by black marbles. Place rotator over 6 marbles with 7th marble as center axis Note: The third picture shows a green marble trapped by white marbles.
