Risk and Recovery Research Sometimes life gets difficult, and people cope with their problems in different ways. Some people have friends, family or other people who can help them, some people use drugs or alcohol to cope, others have other ways, such as self-harm (like cutting) and there are lots of other ways of coping too. This research is about the problems (or risks) that young women face, and how they cope with (recover from) those problems. Research Project Leader: Dr Cate Curtis I’m looking for girls and young women aged between 16 and 25 who would be interested in talking about the problems they face, and how they deal with them. My previous research has been on self-harm, suicidal behaviour and criminal/gang involvement among young women, and these are the Researcher: sorts of problems I’m Priya particularly interested in finding out more about. I hope that better understanding problems and the ways young women cope with them, it will be easier to offer services and support that can help. If it seems like this is something that you would like to be involved in, one of the researchers on this project, Priya, would like to meet with you for about an hour to talk about your experiences. No one else needs to know about this, and you would meet at a place and time that suits you. You would also receive a $30 Warehouse voucher to say ‘thank you’. Interested?... Text 0220 660 360 or email [email protected] Priya will contact you to talk more about the project. If you want, you can arrange an interview then, or... ...once you've thought about it, text or email again if you want to arrange an interview.
