Day 1
an American treasure, the Cape Cod National Seashore, protecting the
fragile coastline from Chatham to Provincetown. A long-time summer
resident of the Cape, JFK had co-sponsored the legislation while in
the Senate. The goal, he wrote, was “to preserve the natural and
historic values of a portion of Cape Cod for the inspiration and
enjoyment of people all over the United States.” This was the first
time the federal government had created a national park out of land
that was primarily in private hands. Today the Seashore encompasses
more than 43,000 acres and draws more than 4,000,000 visitors a
year. Sand dunes and the ocean surround us as we approach “Land’s
End” - Provincetown. We are now at the extreme tip of Cape Cod.
Formerly known as the “Province Lands,” the pilgrims landed here
first before they decided to settle across the Bay in Plymouth. Take
some time to enjoy the wonderful variety of restaurants, shops and
galleries that make this artisan and fishermen village so unique. This
afternoon, we depart on a dune tour excursion. Ride along the

After an included breakfast this morning, we make our way to Cape shoreline of the protected lands of the Cape Cod National Seashore.
Our driver/guide will point out the “dune shacks” where famous
Cod. This afternoon, we arrive at the Cape Codder Resort & Spa,
our home fort the next four nights. Following an included dinner, we artists and writers became inspired to create their art. “I always come
back to the Cape and walk on the beach when I have tough decisions
have a free evening to enjoy the resort. With amazing amenities,

to the resort for the night.
Our journey to New England to celebrate President John F.
Kennedy’s 100th birthday begins with a snack and cup of hot coffee
served by a professional Bianco Tour Director. John Fitzgerald
“Jack” Kennedy (JFK) was the 35th President of the United States,
serving from 1961 until his assassination in 1963. At age 43, he was
the youngest person and the first Roman Catholic ever elected
President. JFK’s presidency was very active and addressed many
major issues of the day - the Cuban Missile Crisis, Vietnam, Latin
America and the spread of Communism, Civil Rights and he is
credited with establishing the Space Program and the Peace Corps.
A scenic drive will bring us to our home for the first night in
Lewisburg, PA. Upon arrival at our quaint hotel, we will have an
included dinner and time to shop in their gift shops. Be sure to get
some rest as we are making our way to Cape Cod tomorrow.
Day 3
Breakfast is included this morning at the resort before departing for a
tour of Hyannis with a local step on guide. We see the John F
Kennedy Memorial, a site which pays tribute to the man who created
“Camelot”; Hyannis Port, home of the Kennedy Compound; St.
Frances Xavier Church where John F. Kennedy worshiped in the
summertime; Hyannis Armory where JFK accepted the 35th
presidential nomination and more. The seas and shores of Hyannis
Port inspired our 35th President like no other place on earth. It was
here that he contemplated and accepted his run for office. Discover
why he loved this place, and how he spent his time on Cape Cod. “I
always go to Hyannis Port to be revived, to know again the power of
the sea and the master who rules over it and all of us.” John
Fitzgerald Kennedy. After the morning tour, we’ll enjoy free time for
lunch and shopping on Main Street. Our afternoon continues with an
included visit to the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum and a one
hour Hyannis Harbor cruise where we’ll get to know the local
landmarks, popular beaches and other points of interest on our way
to view the historic Kennedy Compound. We’ll sail the very waters
that the Kennedy family enjoyed countless summer days. The Peace
Corps was established by President John F. Kennedy on March 1,
1961 as a means to encourage mutual understanding between
Americans and people of other nations and cultures by sending
volunteers from the U.S. to work in developing countries. Once we
return to dry land, we’ll pass the memorial which commemorates the
50th anniversary of its creation. Our tour continues with a visit to the
Cape Cod Maritime Museum where the Kennedy legacy continues.
Here we learn about the Cape’s rich maritime heritage and the
Kennedy’s love for the sea. Our day ends with traditional Cape-style
lobster dinner. (Alternate entrees options available).
Day 4
Following an included breakfast this morning, we will depart on a
full day tour of the Cape with a local guide. We will travel
historic Route 6A, the Old King’s Highway, a scenic byway
winding through centuries of Cape Cod history. It winds past
hundreds of historic structures which characterize its early
development. View the Eastham Windmill, a Cape Cod
Lighthouse and visit the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitor’s
Center. In 1961, President Kennedy signed legislation establishing
Day 5
Another included breakfast starts our day before departing for the
high speed ferry taking us to Martha’s Vineyard. Many United
States presidents have vacationed on Martha’s Vineyard dating back
to President Ulysses S. Grant in 1874, to most recently, President
Barack Obama. Of all the presidents who have visited “the Vineyard”
over the years, none have been as closely connected as JFK. JFK and
his siblings learned to sail on Nantucket Sound, and the Vineyard was
a frequent destination. He came here as a boy, as a young man, when
he was a congressman and a senator. His family came as well, to sail,
to swim, to water-ski, to hobnob, and on occasion to attend church at
St. Elizabeth’s Edgartown. It was here, at Martha’s Vineyard Airport
in 1999, where JFK’s son John Jr.’s plane crashed and killed him, his
wife and his sister-in-law. Their ashes were scattered on the waters
off the island. In 1978, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis bought 366 acres
of windswept dune, freshwater ponds and coastal heath in Aquinnah.
She maintained the home here until her death in 1994. More recently,
their daughter, Caroline, has lived here. In 2006, she received
approval to subdivide it, so future generations of the family might
maintain their connection to this place. Upon arrival to the island, we
will board a local bus for a sightseeing tour. We will learn about the
history and lifestyles of the islanders as we pass through Vineyard
Haven. There will be free time for lunch and shopping in the historic
whaling town of Edgartown. Complete our day on the island in Oak
Bluffs. We may choose to stroll through “Cottage City” with its
brightly painted cottages and decorative “gingerbread” trim. Dinner
with 1950’s and 60’s entertainment is included this evening at the
resort, complete with a Birthday Cake for dessert.
Day 6
We depart this morning after our included breakfast and begin our
journey toward home overnighting in the Finger Lakes region of New
York, known for its distinctive wines and beautiful scenery. Dinner is
included this evening at a lovely restaurant on the edge of Owasco Lake,
one of the most beautiful bodies of water in the Finger Lakes region.
Day 7
After our included continental breakfast this morning, we will
complete our journey home making rest and meal stops en route for
comfort and convenience. See you on other future Bianco tours!
