The St. Peter Parish Conference of the Society of St.
Vincent de Paul leads women and men to join
together to grow spiritually by offering person-toperson service to those who are needy and suffering,
in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frédéric
Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul. The
wooden boxes at our church exits are easy ways for
parishioners to contribute to the parish conference’s
mission. We have helped with fuel assistance, rent
subsidy, food and vouchers for households in need,
support for the Harvard Square Churches Meal
Program, and support for out-of-state and
international relief efforts. Please call or email us if

From the Pastor’s Desk
The Easter Season is filled with the excitement and joy of discovery. For the early
Church, it was the astonishing discovery of Jesus, alive and present in their lives again. We
read their stories in the Scriptures. Yes, it really is Jesus, and they find him as they go
about their daily lives.
For us, too, we continue to write the stories of our own lives. Easter is not just about the past. It is our
continuing to do what the early Christians did – find the presence of Jesus in our daily lives.
For us, as a parish, we celebrate this presence as we gather for sacraments on the weekend. We gather with
young men and women as they commit themselves to the life of Christ and his Church. We gather with young
boys and girls as they approach the Table of the Lord for the first time. We gather with adults who, after
careful prayer and thought, are joining themselves to the life of the Church. We gather with both families
celebrating weddings, and families mourning the passing of a loved one. Life goes on . . . and we find the risen
Lord in these moments of our lives.
Thanks again to the many, many people who worked hard to help us experience the beauty of the Holy
Week and Easter celebrations! For me, they were extraordinary moments of faith and prayer. Special thanks to
an anonymous donor who made and donated the beautiful new Cross that we used on Good Friday; to Doreen
Gulledge for our beautiful music; to Fran Bellamacina for careful and beautiful church decoration; and to
Coady Florists for always providing service “above and beyond.” And, thank you to so many more people,
especially all those who made Saint Peter Parish their home for Holy Week and Easter!

Pope Tweets
@Pontifex
Perhaps you have been worshiping with us, but have
never took steps to become Catholic or perhaps you
have joined us from a different denomination but
are now being called to the Catholic Church. The
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is the
process through which non-baptized individuals or
those baptized in another denomination become
members of the Catholic Church. This process is
also available to someone who may have been
baptized Catholic but has not received the
sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation. To learn
more about the RCIA program at St. Peter’s please
call Anna Molettieri at 617-547-4235 x117 or email
at [email protected].
Lord, bring healing to our lives, that we may protect
the world and not prey on it, that we may sow beauty,
not pollution and destruction.
