CELL C EPIC PACKAGES TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. The EPIC packages are available on both Postpaid and Top Up for new and existing customers.
2. All standard terms and conditions of Cell C and Cell C Service Provider apply.
3. Customers who take out a SIM card only EPIC package deal have a choice of 12, 18 and 24 month
contract length.
4. EPIC Package deals comprising of both a handset and SIM card are available on 24 (twenty four)
month contracts only.
5. Customers are allowed to create their own deals by selecting their preferred EPIC package,
handset and contract term. Please note that if you choose a handset deal, you must take a 24
(twenty four) month contract and you will not be allowed to choose your contract term.
6. All prices and usage rates advertised include VAT, unless otherwise stated.
7. The EPIC packages will be available through all Cell C sales channels. Visit www.cellc.co.za to
locate your nearest Cell C store.
8. The following EPIC packages are available on Postpaid and Top Up for new and existing
customers:

* The cost of the customized EPIC package deal will depend on the handset chosen by the
customer
8.1. New customers signing up for the EPIC packages qualify for the EPIC packages as per the
above Table 1, subject to the relevant credit vetting rules.
9. All existing postpaid and Hybrid top-up Cell C customers who qualify for a contract upgrade have
the option to upgrade to one of the EPIC packages and will receive a R100 (one hundred rand)
credit incentive to be added to their monthly invoice.
10. The EPIC packages are value-centric packages providing the customer with inclusive airtime value
to be used for voice, data and SMS.

11. The first month’s inclusive benefits will be pro-rated depending on the date of activation of the
package; thereafter the benefits will be credited monthly on the 1st of every calendar month.
12. The inclusive airtime can only be used for calls to any local network in South Africa and cannot be
used for International Calling and Roaming.
13. There is no carryover of any unused rand value. Any unused rand value will be forfeited.
14. Inclusive airtime cannot be used to purchase data bundles. Data bundles purchased will be
charged at the applicable data bundle rates and added to the customer’s monthly invoice as an
additional charge.
15. The existing International Calling and Roaming rates will apply and will be charged as out of
bundle usage and added to the customer’s monthly invoice.
16. International SMS/MMS, Premium Rated SMS/MMS or any other Value Added Services
subscription services or bundle purchases will be charged as out of bundle usage and added to the
customer’s monthly invoice.
17. Community Service Telephones, Low Cost Routing and WASPs will be billed at applicable out of
bundle rates for all services used on EPIC packages
18. Voice calls made using the EPIC packages are not restricted to qualifying numbers, that includes all
numbers that are serviced by National Mobile Operators and also including Telkom and Neotel
fixed lines in South Africa, but excluding all Special Numbers.
19. Special Numbers that are chargeable calls will be charged as out of bundle usage at applicable
Special Numbers rates.
20. Cell C will not be liable for charges incurred where the subscriber dials non-qualifying numbers.
21. Data consumption while roaming internationally will not deplete from the inclusive airtime value
or any bundles purchased. Data roaming rates will apply and will be charged as out of bundle
usage.
22. All out of bundle usage for Postpaid customers will be added to the customer’s monthly invoice.
23. Top Up customers on the EPIC packages will only have access to all services billed out of bundle if
they have sufficient airtime in their airtime wallet. Value Added Services activated at point of sale
can be added to the customer’s monthly invoice as per customer’s request.
24. Cell C offers EPIC package deals which are only available on a 24 months contract. This EPIC
package deal includes a SIM card, Handset and an EPIC package. If a customer takes one of the Cell
C hero deals, then the customer will get a specific handset with that hero deal. A customer may
also construct their own packages and in this instance, the customer may choose their own
handset from the range of available handsets.

25. The option for customers to create their own EPIC package deals is also available. Customers can
create a Postpaid or Top Up contract inclusive of their preferred benefits over a preferred contract
term.
26. Parallel, upward and downward migrations to and from the EPIC packages is allowed.
27. Where the customer has fully depleted the inclusive airtime value before end of the month, the
following out of bundle rates will apply:
a. Data – R0.99 (ninety nine cents) per megabyte (MB)
b. Minutes – R1.89 (one rand eighty nine cents) per minute on per second billing
c. SMS - R0.50(fifty cents) per 160 characters
28. Standard Cell C terms and conditions apply to any cancellations.
29. Cell C may amend, modify or otherwise change these terms and conditions in its sole and absolute
discretion, on notice to you, and the amended version will be displayed in the same media as these
terms and conditions. By continuing to use any of the EPIC packages, you agree and understand
that you will be bound by the amended terms and conditions.
30. Cell C and any of its agents, directors, affiliates, members or employees shall not be responsible in
any way for claims, loss or damages (either direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise), arising
from Customers' use of the EPIC packages, or any product purchased by virtue thereof.
31. Cell C has the right to withdraw the EPIC packages in its sole and absolute discretion, and will
notify customers if it chooses to do so. Customers will not have a claim against Cell C in this event.

CONTRACT BUY-OUT OFFER ON CELL C EPIC PACKAGES
1. For the first time in South Africa, Cell C will pay up to R10 000 to help you buy yourself out of your
contract. You’ll get a new handset on an EPIC Contract with a guarantee that the prices you pay
during your contract term will not change for two years.
2. The Contract Buy-Out offer is available to all new and existing customers.
3. All standard terms and conditions of Cell C and Cell C Service Provider apply.
4. The following EPIC packages are available on Postpaid and Top Up for new and existing customers
who take up the Contract Buy-Out offer:

5. All Contract Buy-Out amounts given to new and existing customers will be determined at the sole
discretion of Cell C, taking into consideration the maximum values per package as set out above.
6. New customers who wish to cancel their contract with their existing network provider and take
out a new line with Cell C on an EPIC package are required to:
6.1. provide Cell C with proof of cancellation from your existing network provider;
6.2. trade in your old device which you received in terms of the contract with your existing
network provider;
6.3. comply with all Contract Buy-Out qualifying rules, terms and conditions as well as all Cell C
credit vetting rules.

7. New customers who wish to move to Cell C from another network provider and keep their same
number are required to:
7.1. provide Cell C with the most recent invoice from your existing network provider, proving that
your account is paid-up and not in arrears;
7.2. trade in your old device which you received in terms of the contract with your existing
network provider;
7.3. comply with all Contract Buy-Out qualifying rules, terms and conditions as well as all Cell C
credit vetting rules.
8. Cell C customers who wish to cancel their existing contracts and take up a new line on a Cell C EPIC
package are required to:
8.1. provide Cell C with proof of cancellation;
8.2. trade in your old device which you received in terms of the contract with your existing
network provider;
8.3. comply with all Contract Buy-Out qualifying rules, terms and conditions as well as all Cell C
credit vetting rules.
Cancellation
9. Cancellation of your contract on one of the EPIC packages that you received through the EPIC
Contract Buy-Out offer will not only include standard Cell C cancellation fees and penalties, but
claw-back charges will also apply. Claw-back charges will include the entire value on the Value
Card presented to the customer in terms of the Contact Buy-Out offer, all device costs and any
migration fees. Visit the nearest Cell C store for more information on contract cancellation.
EPIC Contract Buy-Out Qualifying Rules
1. The customer must have an existing contract with a network provider.
2. The customer must provide proof of cancellation of contract with the existing network
provider or recent invoice with the existing network provider.
3. The account under the existing contract with the network provider must be paid up in full.
Proof of the paid-up account must be provided.
4. The customer must trade-in the original handset being used in terms of the existing contract.
5. The customer must have qualified for a new EPIC package and passed standard Cell C credit
vetting procedures.
6. All documentation required by Cell C in order to process the Contract Buy-Out offer, as well as
documentation for credit vetting and RICA, must be provided to Cell C (including copy of ID,
proof of residence etc.)

VALUE CARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. The Buy-Out value, determined at Cell C’s sole discretion, will be presented to the customer in
the form of a Value Card.
2. The customer is responsible for the safekeeping of the Value Card. Should the Value Card
be lost, misplaced or stolen, or the value on the Value Card be used by an unauthorised
person, Cell C shall not be held liable.
3. Customer support will be provided by a third party service provider named Tutuka Software
(Pty) Ltd (“Tutuka”), on behalf of Cell C. Tutuka can be contacted on 0861101210.
4. In the event of the card being lost ,misplaced or stolen, the customer shall be responsible
for reporting the card to Tutuka via the following channels
a. Call Centre – 0861101210
b. SMS Card number to 34246
c. Visiting the website on www.whatsonmycard.com
5. The customer may use the Value Card anywhere in South Africa where MasterCard is
accepted. The customer cannot draw cash with the Value Card, nor may the Value Card be
exchanged for cash. The Value Card will not work at any ATM.
6. The Value Card will have an expiry date, which will be printed on the front of the card.
7. The Value Card will not have a pin.
8. The customer will not receive any correspondence or statements in respect of the Value Card.

DEVICE TRADE-IN TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. In order to participate in the Contract Buy-Out offer, the customer must trade-in the old device
received in terms of the contract with their existing network provider.
2. In order to qualify for the device trade-in requirements for the Contract Buy-Out offer, the
customer must:
2.1. have lawful title to the device presented for traded-in. In the event that the customer does not
have lawful title to the device, Cell C reserves the right to refuse the Contract Buy-Out offer to
the customer;
2.2. be legally entitled and/or have the lawful authority to take up the Contract Buy-Out offer and
trade-in the device;
2.3. produce an original green barcoded identity document, or original passport for verification
purposes;
2.4. complete all necessary documentation, including indemnities and disclaimers, applicable to
the device trade-in part of the Contract Buy-Out offer;
2.5. remove all personal information and data from the device prior to trade-in.
Trading in a Device
3. Cell C shall review and grade any device presented for a trade-in as part of the Contract Buy-Out
offer.
4. The device presented for trade-in will only be accepted for purposes of the Contract Buy-Out offer
if the device switches on and is in good general working order.
5. The result of the device grading is final and Cell C shall not be obliged to enter into any discussions
with the customer regarding the review and/or grading of the device.
6. If during the review and grading process, Cell C determines that a device is blacklisted, Cell C shall
immediately return the device to the customer and the customer shall be barred from utilising the
Service.
7. If a customer is trading in an iPhone, the customer is required to ensure that the application “Find
My iPhone” is deactivated prior to trading in the iPhone. In the event that the application is not
deactivated the handset will not be accepted and you will not be permitted to take out this offer.
8. The device, once traded-in, will remain in Cell C’s possession for a period of 7 (seven) days.
Thereafter, no customer shall be entitled, for any reason whatsoever, to have access to the device
or to take back the device.
General
9. If a customer does not comply with these terms and conditions and/or the processes applicable to
the device-trade, Cell C reserves the right to refuse the customer from taking up the Contract BuyOut offer.
10. Cell C may amend, modify or otherwise change these terms and conditions in its sole and absolute
discretion on notice to you and the amended version will be displayed in the same media as these
terms and conditions. Cell C will notify you before Cell C amends or otherwise changes the terms

and conditions. You hereby agree and understand that you will be bound by the amended terms
and conditions.
11. As and when necessary, you consent to Cell C obtaining, using, storing and/or disclosing the
personal information you provided to our agents and/or consultants and/or trade partners
and/or Service Providers, but only to the extent necessary, for purposes of the device trade-in
process and in order to provide seamless and proper services to you.
12. Cell C and any of its agents, directors, affiliates, members or employees shall not be responsible in
any way for claims, loss or damages (either direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise), arising
from customers’ participation in the device trade-in process for purposes of the Contract Buy-Out
offer .
13. Cell C has the right to withdraw, or change the device trade-in process for purposes of the Contract
Buy-Out offer, in its sole and absolute discretion and will notify customers if it chooses to do so.
Customers will not have a claim against Cell C in this event.
