Grade Point System
The Rockwall Independent School
District is located 25 miles northeast of
Dallas on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard
in suburban Rockwall County.
Class rank, cumulative from the beginning
of ninth grade, is based upon the final
semester grades. The grade average is
based upon a 5.0 weighed scale using
academic core courses of English, Math,
Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language,
all Pre-AP and AP courses and electives.
The district encompasses 102 square
miles, approximately 70 percent of Rockwall County, and a mix of residential,
commercial, and agricultural use properties. The district is bounded on three
sides by Collin, Dallas, and Kaufman counties.
Approximately 35,000 people live in
the district. The geographic area includes
the cities of Rockwall, Heath, McLendonChisholm, parts of Fate, Rowlett, and
surrounding rural areas.
