Quarry Cake (aka Dirt Cake)
Lesson: The earth is made up of four layers – (1) Crust; (2) Mantle; (3) Outer Core; and (4) Inner Core.
Just as our Quarry Cake has four layers. Thankfully, our Quarry Cake tastes much better than dirt!
What you will need:
Directions:
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1 – 8 oz. container of Cool Whip
1 – Package of Oreos
2 – Packs of French Vanilla Jello
INSTANT Pudding
1 – 8 oz. container
of Cream Cheese
1 cup of powdered sugar
3 and ½ cups of milk
1. Cream together butter, cream cheese, and powdered
sugar.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk pudding, milk and Cool Whip.
Add in cream cheese mixture.
3. Crush Oreos
*Tip – Place Oreos in a tightly sealed, gallon Ziplock bag
and crush with a rolling pin.
4. Layer cookie and pudding mixture and chill for at least 2
hours before serving.
*Tip – Layer in a 13x9 clear baking dish to see the layers.
5. Top with gummy worms, grapes (aka rocks), and/or
Matchbox dump trucks.
