The Promise of Easter
"Because He lives, We too shall Live"
We need these seven words above
To help us to endure
The changing world about us
That is dark and insecure,
To help us view the present
As a passing episode
A troubled brief encounter
On life's short and troubled road
For in knowledge life's eternal
Because our savior died
And rose again at Easter
After He was crucified
Makes the uncertain present
In a world of sin and strife,
Nothing but a stepping stone
To a new and better life.
April Tenants Association Meeting News
We had a visit from the Gloversville Fire Fighters
Association. They indicated that the mayor wants to
reduce the number of people in the firehouse from 7
to 4 people on duty, with the rest of the positions to
be made up by volunteers ( the firefighters had
agreed to 5). They also indicated that if the tenants
wanted to start a petition to help them, it would be
greatly appreciated and would also help to insure
public safety .
Reports were given by the secretary, treasurer and
sunshine and were accepted by the members.
Joyce volunteered to go and pick up Donna Filkin so
she could come to visit us.
Herb Buyce is now home. Emma Ficili is in the Wells
House and Frances Keane is in the infirmary for
rehab and they would appreciate cards and visits.
It was discussed to have tenants write a short article
to be published in Tower Talk about interesting things
their relatives are involved in (give it to either John or
Karl)
It was approved to spend an extra $15 to have a one
page double sided insert into Tower Talk when we
have sufficient articles to be published.
Good luck to Janet Luck on her retirement .
Our Spring Rummage Sale is scheduled for May
20th in conjunction with the city wide rummage sale
on the same date. Sign up sheets were distributed
for to ask for volunteers to assist at the rummage
sale.
Reminder: DON'T FEED THE SQUIRRELS
(They are eating our tulip bulbs)
Bernie Manzer had no updates regarding the
anticipated changes to the laundry room.
Gloversville Housing Authority will purchase a large
chest for storing frozen food for use for mass
distribution. Any remaining food will be donated to
the fire department.
The shopping carts issue was addressed and it was
decided to contact Price Chopper and Hannaford to
pick up their carts and also to ask them if they would
be willing to donate a cart for the tenants use.
It was decided that we would no longer have our
meeting notes published in the Leader-Herald.
Please be a little bit considerate to our resident's
aids since they have limited time to do their clients
laundry.
It was discussed about the possibility of purchasing a
flat screen TV for the community room.
Further details coming next month.
Movie Night for April will be on 28th at 5:00pm.
Refreshments will be provided free. The title of the
movie will be "Some Like It Hot".

March Tenants Association News
At our March Association meeting, the current status
of Bingo presentation was given by Joyce Estey, our
association president. As required by NY State law,
any organization holding Bingo games must obtain a
license from the state and pay fees to them prior to
holding games. Joyce said that the cost is $18.75
weekly, payable in advance, to the state. Joyce
indicated that there are various forms that need to be
completed in order to apply for a license and that
background checks will need to be done on the
people that will be running the games.
Joyce also indicated that anyone involved in running
the games is not permitted to participate in the games
as required by state law. Several ideas were
discussed regarding the cost of the license and how
to move forward. Currently, the Bingo games are
suspended until a license is obtained by the
Association.

days and when there is snow on the ground that
reflects light.Sunglasses are as necessary in the
winter as they are in summer.
When your eyes are tired, a good pair of polarized
sunglasses can be relaxing indoors as well as
outdoors.
For tired eyes, lay a thin slice of cucumber over
each closed eye, allowing the cucumber to extend
below the eye. Turn slice over to be cool on your
skin for five to ten minutes.
For over night care, dab on unscented castor oil
very gently all around the eye and along the
"Crows Feet".
Mascara can be revived by placing the tube in a
glass of hot water for a few minutes .
Directions
Special equipment: mini muffin tins
Dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Mix the butter and
sugar with an electric mixer. Beat in the egg. Add the
yeast and mix well. Gradually stir in the flour until smooth.
Pour into a 2-quart, greased, airtight bowl. Store tightly
covered in the refrigerator overnight.
The next day, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease
miniature muffin tins.
Joke of the Month
Spoon the dough into the muffin tins and bake the rolls
until browned, 18 to 20 minutes.
A woman went to her psychiatrist and said: "Doctor, I
want to talk to you about my husband . He thinks he
is a refrigerator".
"That's not so bad" said the doctor, "It's rather a
harmless complex".
"Well, maybe", replied the lady, "but he sleeps with
his mouth open and the light keeps me awake".

Spring Time Glory
Flowers buried
Beneath the snow
Awakening again to live and grow
Leaves that fell to earth to die
Enriching the soil in which they lie
Lifeless looking stark
Stripped trees
Bursting with buds
In the springtime breeze
Are just a few examples of
The greatness of God's power and love
And in this blaze of springtime glory
Just who could doubt
