8 Words That Describe
Themselves
1. Word. Yep, that was an
easy one.
2. Polysyllabic. Meaning, lots
of syllables. Yes, indeed.
The Funny Bone
New Dad of a Red Head…
3. Erudite: It sounds so
scholarly.
After their baby was born, the
panicked father went to see the
obstetrician.
“Doctor,” the man said, “I’m a
little upset because my daughter
has red hair. She can’t possibly be
mine!!”
“Nonsense,” the doctor said. “Even
though you and your wife both
have black hair, one of your
ancestors may have contributed red
hair to the gene pool.”
“It isn’t possible,” the man insisted.
“This can’t be. Our families on
both sides had jet-black hair for
generations.”
“Well,” said the doctor, “let me ask
you this. How long have you been
trying to have a baby?”
The man seemed a bit ashamed.
“I’ve been working very hard for
the past year. We only made love
once or twice every few months.”
“Well, there you have it!” the
doctor said confidently. “It’s rust.”
4. Unhyphenated. It is, in fact,
unhypenated.
5. Buzzword: I’m hearing this
everywhere.
6. Magniloquent. It just
sounds pompous.
7. Cutesy. Just adorable
8. Proparoxytone. This is a
weird one. It means stressed
on the “antepenultimate”, or
third-to-last syllable.
Pronounced pro-par-OX-ytone

Hasn’t Dad been good to you? Does he still think he can fix the car

help! You may even be a little ODD yourself. We have the cure this
June. We can give Dad a break this June by allowing him to NOT
have to act so confident, so in charge. We have a great deal so Dad
doesn’t have to be out “changing the oil” during his special month.
It’s progress against Overconfident Dad Disease. Give him an excuse
to let our trained technicians take care of the car this month. We’ll
even make it easy with a fantastic special. Call us TODAY and make

It’s a Bad Idea to
Recharge Your Car’s A/C
By Yourself
Air conditioning systems in cars
have gotten so much better over
the years! It’s terrific, they cool off
much faster, they last longer and
they are more green. But, they are
harder to fix on your own now.
As always, the A/C system is a
closed system. It stays under
pressure without outside air getting
into it. It’s filled with a refrigerant
chemical called R134a that creates
the cooling effect for your A/C. If
you get a leak or some other
damage to the system, the R134a
will leak out. The system will lose
pressure. And here’s the bad part,

You Are The BEST!
Thank you to all of our amazing
clients that have referred us business
time after time. Our business
depends on the positive comments
and referrals from people just like
you. Every month we take a moment

if the refrigerant leaks out and there
is no pressure, other things can get in,
like moisture. Before more
refrigerant can be put in, we have to
vacuum pump the system to make
sure there’s not moisture or other
foreign chemicals in the system. If
there is, it can damage the
compressor and/or evaporator, which
are the more expensive parts of the
A/C system.
If your A/C is not blowing cold
enough or hard enough, it’s a great
idea to have a professional (like us!)
look at it. Those cans of refrigerant
you can buy won’t
help you evaluate
whether you have
a leak or any parts
of your A/C
system are
damaged.

Grilled Cinnamon Sweet Potatoes
3 medium sweet potatoes
olive oil
kosher salt (to taste)
cinnamon (to taste)
Slice the sweet potatoes into 1/2″ thick slices and place in a pot of
water. Bring to a boil and cook for 3-5 minutes. With a slotted spoon,
move the potatoes to a bowl of cool water, and let them sit for 10
minutes to cool. Remove the potatoes from the cool water and pat
them dry. Lightly coat the potatoes with olive oil. Sprinkle one side of
each potato with the salt and cinnamon. Place them directly on your
grill, spiced side down, over medium-high heat, and sprinkle spices on
the second side. Cook until tender. It will only take a few minutes on
each side. Remove them from the grill and enjoy.
Thanks for the Kind Words
“In over 30 years of car ownership I have never been so pleased with
the service provided me as I was upon visiting Du Fresne's
Automotive. A family member recommended Du Fresne's when they
learned that I was due for maintenance. I went in and talked to Steve
and explained the services I needed performed. He took my e-mail
address and within a few hours mailed me a detailed quote. The rates
were very reasonable and the quote was nicely detailed which made
me confident that all my concerns were being addressed. I was able
to make an appointment to have the work done quickly and only had
to be without my car for a little over a day, even though I asked them
to address a lot more then what was on the original quote. When I
picked up my car I was very pleased at the difference in performance.
The other part of the experience I relished was the kind and attentive
staff, willing to answer questions in detail and go the extra mile to
please their customers. Du Fresne's has a customer for life in me
now. In fact from what I understand from my family member whom
recommended them that is a common theme, once you experience the
top notch service Du Fresne's offers you really don't see any point in
looking any further”.

Your Fridge Could
Be Making You Fat
The way your fridge is
organized could overwhelm
and tempt you in weak
moments! Use these tips to
get organized (and slimmer):
Top Shelf: Healthy drinks, like
skim milk, 100% fruit juice
and water. You are three times
more likely to take out that
first item you see in the fridge
so make it a healthy beverage.
Top Shelf: Add measuring
tools. If you see the tools, you
are more likely to measure and
moderate. And they take up
space that won’t get filled with
junk food now.
Second Shelf: Fill it with
“Growies”. Put fruits and
vegetables front-and-center on
this easy to see and reach
shelf.
Third Shelf: Here’s the power,
your protein. Fill this shelf
with hard-boiled eggs, lean
meats, and reduced-fat dairy, like yogurt.
Crisper Drawers: this is where the diet saboteurs go. Out-of-sight is out
of mind for these temptations, like desserts.
On the door: cram this shelf with flavorings and condiments, like spicy
mustard and salsa. They pack a big flavor punch with less calories.
Freezer: focus on convenience.
Fill the freezer with individually
wrapper fish filets and veggies.
Make it easy to grab a healthy
serving.
These tips are great shortcuts to
shedding some summer pounds!

Penguin Papas are Tops
Talk about hands-on (or should that be 'wings-on?'). Penguin dads
are on the ball when it comes to caring for their chicks. Male
penguins take egg-sitting duties for weeks while mom heads to sea
to hunt fish for her soon-to-hatch offspring. Males fast during this
time period, but if the chick hatches before mama penguin returns,
dad can still produce a curd-like substance, which he regurgitates to
keep baby fed.
So what’s the primary factor in getting a penguin mate? The females
seek out pudgy partners who can sit on eggs longer without food.
One 2010 study found that females can tell how fat a male penguin
is by listening to his hoarse mating cries. Penguin ladies really love
a mate with a little meat on his bones!
