(walking in with Solomon) There is so much on your agenda
today, Solomon.
SOLOMON:
What have we got, Kristin?
KRISTIN:
Well, your creativity is requested in software engineering …
Oh, and you were supposed to have a meeting with the GPS
designers, but they got lost again. We’ll have to reschedule. SOLOMON:
Oh, what’s new?
KRISTIN:
New? Well, there’s a new cowboy game, a new circus
game …
SOLOMON:
(interrupting) No, no, no, that was a rhetorical question. No
worries, it’s all in a day’s work!
(dialog 2 during meas. 35)
KRISTIN:
(answering the phone) Hello. Yes, yes, oh thank you very
much. We’ll be in touch.
SOLOMON:
Was that call for me?
KRISTIN:
Of course. You got 464 phone calls yesterday. Everybody
has an idea for an app. And half of them were from your
mother!
SOLOMON:
My mother! Is everything alright?!
KRISTIN:
Oh, she’s fine. She has ideas for apps too!
SOLOMON:
Did you tell her there’s already an app for Sudoku?
KRISTIN:
Every time she called. It’s all in a day’s work!

CLAIRE:
Look, we’re the first in the door!
MORGAN:
I APPsolutely love this place! Every APP imaginable, all
right here to test out.
JOSH:
Aw, Mom. Can you give me a break? I don’t want everybody seeing my mother drop me off!
JOSH’S MOM: Here, sweetheart … (Josh twists away, embarrassed) … here’s your phone … oh, where are my car keys? (fumbles with her
purse) Hold this for a minute (hands him her phone) … okay,
(takes his phone, leaves hers) we’re all set. Just call Dad when
you’re ready to be picked up. And, have fun with your

JOSH:
Ah, I’ve got it in beta. I beat it in no time. I dominate every
game I play.
MORGAN:
It is APParent that your APPreciation of your own

JOSH:
(aside) “APPsurd?” Is that even a word?
CLAIRE:
So, how does this place work? I’ve always just downloaded apps on my phone.
MORGAN:
Oh, this place is the best. Inside the App Factory you can try
any app ever created for free at any Ingenious App Station.
J.T.:
I can’t wait to try out The Ancient Lands and Barbarian’s Quest.
CLAIRE:
Or Color World, or Hidden Talents!
JOSH:
Man, I wish I could work in a place like this. I’d be an
expert at every game. (revealingly, to the side) I think I’m
better at apps than at real life.
J.T.:
Maybe you should work back there. (points ominously)
CLAIRE:
What’s back there?
J.T.:
That’s the Lab, where all the apps are designed and built.
But, they don’t let anybody back there. It’s top secret. (says
it mysteriously)
MORGAN:
Confidential and un-APProachable!
(music begins to “We’ve Gotta Get An App for That”)
JOSH:
That is totally where I should work, then. I’m always dreaming up new apps. Everywhere. All the time.

SONG 2: WE’VE GOTTA GET AN APP FOR THAT
verse 1
I took a picture of the food I ate
Somebody said, that should be a game
Where the chicken tenders rise up and take on the cake
The fries chase the veg’tables off the plate
Then the ketchup starts growing
The mustard starts glowing
Next thing you know, food fight
We’ve gotta get an app for that
chorus
We’ve gotta get an app for that
Yeah, that’s something that we all should have
Well, have you ever seen something so right, right?
We’ve gotta get an app for that, oh yeah
We’ve gotta get an app for that
verse 2
I was sittin’ in class the other day
Somebody said, this should be a game
Every time the teacher says “gimme a break”
The room gets darker and starts to shake
Then the walls start shrinking
The lights start blinking
And crashing through the door comes, zombies
We’ve gotta get an app for that
chorus
We’ve gotta get an app for that
Yeah, that’s something that we all should have
Well, have you ever seen something so right, right?
We’ve gotta get an app for that, oh yeah
We’ve gotta get an app for that
bridge
Oh, it’s just another idea
So many ideas ev’ryday here
No way we could get to each one
(solo 1 spoken) But the one that can send me back in time

AARON:
Welcome to the top-secret App Factory Lab. I’m Solomon’s APPrentice, Aaron.
AVERY:
And I’m his APPrentice, Avery.
AARON:

SOLOMON:
Hello gamers, welcome to the inner workings of the App
Factory. My name is Solomon.
CLAIRE:
Solomon? That’s not a name you hear everyday.
SOLOMON:
My parents named me Solomon because they wanted me to
be wise like Solomon in the Bible.
J.T.:
It must have worked because everyone knows you’re the greatest App designer ever.
SOLOMON:
Today I’m going to show you what I’m currently working
on … the most important app I’ve ever created. But first,
my APPrentices, Aaron and Avery are going to get you
scanned in so rather than just playing the game, you’ll actually get into the game.
JOSH:
Get into the game? That’s way cool!
(music begins to “You Know Me”)
AVERY:
These scanners are going to create a virtual twin of you that
will actually play the game.
MORGAN:
You mean it will look like me and move like me?
AARON:
That’s right. We’re designing this app so that every person
who plays it gets scanned into the games. Each challenger in
the game is unique.
SOLOMON:
Yes, just as each of you is a unique creation, formed by God
Himself. And because He made you, He knows you. In fact,
He knew you even before you were born. And He not only
knows everything about your past, He knows everything
about your future.

All my days were ordained for me
Written in Your book before they came to be
For You alone, Lord, will I sing praise
Because I’m fearfully and wonderf’lly made
I am fearfully and wonderf’lly made
chorus
You know me, inside and out
You know me, without a doubt
You’ve searched me and You know me
Completely, so perfectly
You know me, (shouted) You know me

I’m Your creation, Yours alone
Woven together I’m body and soul
Before I speak You know what I’ll say
You are familiar with all my ways

ALL KIDS:
(Wow! Cool! This is awesome, etc.)
SOLOMON:
So God knows you. And He made you with an incredible
purpose in mind, that you would know Him. That’s why I am anxious to show you the most important app I’ve ever created: iAM.
(all remain quiet for a few seconds, then look at each other)
J.T.:
You are … what?
SOLOMON:
iAM is not a “what,” but a “who.”
MORGAN:
Okay, but … you said “iAM.” Does that mean you are iAM?
SOLOMON:
No, I am not. But I know I AM.
CLAIRE:
You know you are?
SOLOMON:
No. I know I AM. (all are totally confused) In fact, that’s why I’ve invited you in the Lab today, so you can actually
experience the “iAM” app. It isn’t finished yet, and I’m hoping you will help me test it out! And that my new app
will become a great way for lots of people to know I AM!
ALL KIDS:

SONG 4: THIS IS MY NAME
verse 1 dialog
The Lord called to Moses from inside a burning bush
God said to Moses, “Do not come any closer
Remove your sandals, for the place you are standing is holy ground
I am the God your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
I have heard the cry of the Israelites
So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to get My people out”

‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you’
And they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?”

Scene 4
CLAIRE:
I have to admit, I AM is some strange name.
J.T.:
I don’t know anything about God, so I don’t think I’m going to be very good at this game.
SOLOMON:
That’s just it, J.T., the new app I’m creating is not for people who know everything about I AM, it’s for people who want to know I AM.
MORGAN:
But what does that name even mean?

SOLOMON:
When God says to us that He is I AM, He is telling us that
that He simply is … He always has been. He wasn’t created by anything or anyone else. He is the one who created
everything.
SFX #2: Serious Powers Up
(Serious is standing to the side, frozen like a mannequin, but
now “awakes” and moves forward.)
SERIOUS:
Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
JOSH:
Woah, who’s that?
SOLOMON:
Everyone, this is Serious.
MORGAN:
Seriously?
SOLOMON:
Yes! We call her Serious because she is seriously smart.
CLAIRE:
How’d she get so smart?
SOLOMON:
Well, the best thing about Serious is that she has the entire
Bible … God’s truth … stored in her memory, and she’s programmed to always search there for the answers.
SERIOUS:
Genesis 1:2, “The earth was formless and empty, and
darkness covered the deep waters.”
SFX #3: Lab Powers Down
(the lights go out)
J.T.:
Hey, it’s dark in here!
AARON:
To boot the iAM game, we have to power down the entire
Lab and cool the energy source for a few seconds.

Well, I can’t see anything.

MORGAN:
Uh … so, where’s the light?
SFX #4: Game Powers Up
CLAIRE:
Ahhh, that’s more like it!
SOLOMON:
I guess we’ve already learned something important about I
AM. Thank you, Serious, for your references. I AM is the
one who shines light into the darkness of the world, and into
the darkness of our lives, and even into the darkness of our
hearts.
SERIOUS:
Psalm 27:1, “The Lord is my Light and my salvation. Whom
shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom
shall I be afraid?”
AVERY:
I hear another name for God in there, Serious. In Hebrew, it
would be Jehovah-ori which means, “The Lord is my Light.”
CLAIRE:
Wait a minute. What do you mean another name. You mean
I AM has more than one name?
SOLOMON:
Yes, He does. But really, they are all part of the same name.
And every one of them just tells us more about Him.
AVERY:
All of us get called more than one name. Your name is
Claire but you also are called “sister” by your sibling, and
“BFF” by your friends.
AARON:
Those are different names for you that tell us something else
about who you are and what you do.
SOLOMON:
In fact, let’s try something … who has a phone? (they all pull
them out immediately) Earlier, you texted to get into the Lab.
I’m going to text you back, but I’ll use my email name.

SOLOMON:
So what does that name, headhoncho@theappfactory, tell
you about me?
MORGAN:
That you work at the App Factory.
CLAIRE:
And that you’re the boss.
SOLOMON:
Exactly! As we learn more of God’s names in the Bible, we
learn more about Him. Let’s play one of the games in the
app called, “Jehovah Jumble,” and you’ll get an idea of what I mean.
(music begins to “Jehovah”)
AARON:
For this game, you’re all gonna need to work together to
unscramble more of God’s names.
KIDS:
(hands together in a circle) Game on!
(“Jehovah Jumble Game”: During the song the kids place
letters on poles that spell out the eight different Jehovah names.
Or kids can have letters on their shirts and the players
rearrange the kids to spell the names.)

JOSH:
Good thing I’m so good at word games. That was a lot of
letters to unscramble!
SOLOMON:
But did you catch all the amazing things God tells us about
Himself through those names in the Old Testament?
CLAIRE:
I’ve heard some of those before, but I didn’t really know they meant something special.
(Kristin steps into the Lab.)
KRISTIN:
Sorry to interrupt Solomon, but your Mother’s on the phone
… again! She said it’s urgent! She’s having problems on the
computer … again.
SOLOMON:
Uh, Kristin, maybe you could …
KRISTIN:
Un-uh … yesterday I was on the phone for an hour trying to
explain how to export a photo from eyePicture so she could
put it on her FaceBoard page.
SOLOMON:
I’ll give you a raise?
KRISTIN:
Nope!
SOLOMON:
(in a resigned voice) Okay, tell her I’ll call her in a few
minutes. (Kristin nods and leaves) Kids, just a word of advice,
never buy your 80 year-old Mom a new computer. The
questions never cease! Okay, sorry, where were we? Oh yes,
God’s names in the Old Testament and what they tell us. AVERY:
When we feel alone and we remember His name, Jehovahshammah, the Lord is near, we realize we’re not really alone. AARON:
When we feel confused, and we remember His name,
Jehovah-shalom, the Lord is peace, we can be at peace.
SOLOMON:
And when we feel tempted to do what we know is wrong, we
need to remember the name revealed in the next game.
JOSH:
What name is that? (acting embarrassed that he seemed to
anxious) Uh, not that I’m ever really tempted to do anything
wrong, of course.

SOLOMON:
Oh, we’re all tempted, Josh! When we’re tempted to do wrong and we remember Jehovah-nissi, the Lord our
Banner, we remember that I AM shows us the way to
overcome evil.
J.T.:
Overcoming evil. Now that sounds like a wicked cool game!
JOSH:
Let me at it too! What is it?
AARON:
I’m guessing you like games with battles to fight and enemies to conquer?
J.T. & JOSH:
(Of course! You bet!)
AVERY:
Alright then. Get ready for “Amalekites Attack!” In this
battle, the Amalekites attack the Israelites. Moses is up there
on a high rock, holding his staff. As long as his hands stay
up in the air, the Israelites will win, but whenever he drops
his hands, the Amalekites will win.
AARON:
You have until the sun sets to keep sending in support just
when Moses needs it. Now, you only have two supporters,
Aaron and Hur, who can make it up the hill to help Moses.
So you’ve got to know just when to send them! Are you
ready?
(music begins to “The Lord My Banner”)
ALL KIDS:
Game On!
SONG 6: “THE LORD MY BANNER” (“Amalekites Attack Game”: The Israelite army, led by Joshua-who has one color banner going into war--seek to kill as many
Amalekites--who have another color banner--through swordplay while Moses holds his staff--which is his banner--and has
his hands up in the air. Players send helpers to lift up Moses’ hands when they are almost down and toss swords to Israelite
soldiers to defend themselves. When Moses’ hands are down, the Amalekites are winning--pushing back the Israelite army,
and when his hands go up, the Israelites become dominant-pushing back in the other direction. At the end of the game, a
banner unfurls from Moses’ staff, “The Lord is My Banner.”)
(Different kids send Aaron and Hur to help keep Moses’ arms
up. When they start to lose, they realize they need to send help,
then they hurriedly help raise his hands again.)

Woah, woah, the Lord my Banner will
The Lord my Banner will, He will deliver me

Scene 6
J.T.:
Man, that was fun! I hope you have some more games in the
iAM app for us to try.
AARON:
Oh, there are a lot more, some still in development. In fact,
we were just getting ready to load the data for a new game.
AVERY:
Serious, why don’t you load the data on all the screens in the
App Factory so that everyone can read it together?
SERIOUS:
Psalm 23, loading now.
SFX #5: Upload Psalm 23 and Underscore
(The Kids and the Choir recite Psalm 23.)
ALL KIDS:
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the
presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
AVERY:
Morgan, did you hear the name for God revealed in Psalm
23?
MORGAN:
Yes! The Lord is my shepherd. I think I’m getting it,
Solomon. God helps us know who He is by telling us all of
His different names.

SOLOMON:
APPsolutely … I mean, absolutely, Morgan. That’s why I’m thinking that when I get my new iAM app finished and out
in the market, everybody who downloads it will finally be
able to know everything they need to know about God.
AVERY:
(cautiously) Well, Mr. Solomon, we’ve been meaning to talk to you about that …
AARON:
We have a concern.
SOLOMON:
What is it? You know that any question is allowed here in
the Lab.
AVERY:
We love the iAM app so far. Just look at all we’ve discovered about the names of God, and what that shows us
about Him! Serious, what does Jesus say in John 17:26?
SERIOUS:
In John 17:26, Jesus said, “I made known to them your
name, and I will continue to make it known.”
SOLOMON:
Yes … and?
AVERY:
The most important things about I AM can’t be taught in an app.
AARON:
Or even experienced by getting scanned into the game!
SOLOMON:
I think I see what you’re saying. Knowing all about God is
one thing, but knowing Him … in real life … is something
very different!
AVERY:
That’s it, Solomon! We just read in Psalm 23 that the Lord
is our shepherd. But when Jesus came to earth, He said …
well, Serious, what did He say?
SERIOUS:
In John 10:11, Jesus said, “I am the Good Shepherd; I know
my own sheep, and they know me. The Good Shepherd
sacrifices his life for the sheep.”
SOLOMON:
That’s right. We have a Good Shepherd … Jesus, God’s Son … who not only looks after us, but was willing to die so that
we could live!
J.T.:
Why would He do that?

MORGAN:
Jesus came and offered Himself as a sacrifice for sin. All of
us are sinners.
JOSH:
That’s right. We’ve offended I AM by not loving and obeying Him. That’s what it means to sin.
SOLOMON:
But maybe you’ve never even realized you’re a sinner.
J.T.:
Well, I know I don’t always do the right thing.
SOLOMON:
Because we are all sinners, either we are going to have to
pay for our own sin, or we put our faith in Jesus, believing
that He has paid for our sin.
SERIOUS:
2 Corinthians 5:21, “Christ didn’t have any sin. But God made him become sin for us. So we can be made right with
God because of what Christ has done for us.”
J.T.:
(sincerely) I want that. I want to know a God who would do
that.
CLAIRE:
J.T., Jesus died on the cross for your sins, to take the
punishment for your sins, so that you could know God … not just know about Him in an app.
SOLOMON:
That’s right Claire, when we trust in Jesus we become His.
We can talk to Him, and know that He’s always with us.
J.T.:
Like His sheep! He watches over us and leads us as a Good
Shepherd!
(music begins to “I Am I AM”)
SOLOMON:
I couldn’t have said it better myself. He’s the Good Shepherd and so much more!

Scene 7
SOLOMON:
I suppose its time for your App Factory Lab adventure to
come to a close. But I hope it’s really only the beginning for
you guys, only the beginning of getting to know I AM.
SERIOUS:
And can I just say, even though I’m programmed with all the information there is to know about God from the Bible, I
can not know Him like you guys can.
(Serious looks sad and drops her head slightly.)
AVERY:
That’s right, because we are made in His image, we can
know Him, not just with our minds, but with our hearts.
AARON:
In fact that’s what we were made for. That’s what real life is
all about … knowing and loving I AM.
SOLOMON:
I think I’ve learned more than anybody today! Apps are
awesome, but they are nothing compared to real life, where
we can know Jesus.
(thinking) Hey, now I know what the last level of the iAM
app needs to be. It has to be, “put down your app, and get out there and live the real life with Jesus!”
(music begins to “Real Life”)
ALL KIDS:
(Kids cheer and ad lib: Yeah, let’s go, I love it, etc.)
SONG: “REAL LIFE”
SONG 8: REAL LIFE
chorus
This is the real life in Jesus
It’s true joy to walk with Him
And each day in this real life
We are alive in the hope He gives
Never alone we are together
Always and forever our God is with us in real life
verse
Jesus came so we might have life and so we can live it fully
Jesus came ’cause His love is great and to all He gives it freely
He fills our hearts with His perfect peace

Scene 8
(The Kids have left the Lab and are now back at the front of the
App Factory.)
MORGAN:
Solomon, I for one, APPreciate and intend to APPly all that
you have shown us about how we can know I AM.
SOLOMON:
Morgan, I APPlaud your enthusiasm.
JOSH:
Oh, I almost forgot … I’m supposed to call my Dad to pick me up.
(He makes a call.)
SFX #6: Phone Dialing and ringing
DAD:
(at other side of stage, looking at caller ID and answering)
Well, is this my lovely wife calling me?
JOSH:
Awww, I forgot! No, Mom’s not calling you, I am.
DAD:
Who is?
JOSH:
I am.
DAD:
I AM is calling me?
JOSH:
No … I … (laughing) well, that’s actually a really good story, and I’ll tell you all about it when you pick me up.
DAD:
Oh, it’s you, Josh! Obviously, you’ve got Mom’s phone. Well,
I’m on my way. I hope you had a good time down there this
morning playing around. I hope you’re ready to get back to real life.
JOSH:
I am! Well, I’m not I AM, but I know I AM!
DAD:
(looks at phone, confused)
