on Thursday 6th November
Dr Clare Jackson has kindly agreed to come
from Cambridge University, where she is Senior Tutor at Trinity
Hall. She is a historian with particular interests in the rich and
complex history of Tudor, Stuart and Georgian Britain. She argues
that the Stuarts, more than any other, were Britain’s defining royal
family. In the century to come, not only the political shape of
modern Britain would emerge, but the embryonic ideas of a new
British identity.
