Horsemanship with Libby Lyman, 1/26-27; & Samantha Harvey 3/21-23
Demo with Libby Lyman: Libby Lyman, a resident trainer with Harry Whitney, will be presenting a
free demonstration on Jan. 26 from 9-1:00 p.m. followed by reserved private sessions on Sat.
afternoon and all-day Sunday. Private sessions are $100 for approximately one hour and include the
option to audit other participant sessions. Four privates are still available, contact Libby directly at
[email protected]. Non-boarder fee of $30 per day for facility/board. Three-day clinic with
Samantha Harvey: I encourage you to visit Sam’s website at www.learnhorses.com. Sam, another
of Harry’s riders, is offering an intense three-day clinic March 21-23, $400 including facility fees.
The clinic will be limited to 8 participants. You must be able attend all three days—boarders
receive a 25% discount. Sam blends a combination of one-on-one sessions with group rides.

Ann’s Annual Harry Whitney
Week
Ann, Chip and Coco (a mare who has been
out in pasture for over two years for
soundness issues), made their annual trek to
Arizona to ride with Harry. Good friend, Leslie Exter
and Peppy joined the party. The photos tell the
story best…
Melrose Extension: To be or Not to
Be—that is the Question…

The Melrose extension has been on and off the
changes—form enclosed
planning books at least twice already. Currently,
the Oceanside City Council has voted to pursue
planning for the extension and is in the
environmental assessment phase, though stalled at
the County. Worst case: in about six years road
construction may begin on a negotiated line which
will affect at least a portion of Rancho Dos Palmas.
That route is part of what they are currently trying
to study, though there has been no follow-up from
the project managers to Ranch ownership—see
