Brief History of Anheuser-Busch InBev in Russia The company was founded in 1999 after two important players in the Russian and Ukrainian beer markets, Interbrew and SUN Brewing, merged their brewing facilities in these countries. Currently SUN InBev Russia operates 6 breweries in Russia. SUN InBev Russia is the second largest brewing company in Russia. Supported by our flagship brand Siberian Crown, our initiative encouraged beer retailers to be diligent in only selling beer to consumers over the legal drinking age. AB InBev employees in collaboration with local officials and the media visited various retailers encouraging them to be responsible sellers. Over 1400 volunteers distributed 200, 000 materials in 50,000 POCs. Environment In 2013, our team in Russia continued to improve their environmental performance and contrbuted to AB InBev’s 2017 global environment goals: • Improved recycling of our waste and brewing byproducts from 98.62% in 2012 to 99.33% in 2013 • Reduced water usage per hectoliter if production from 3.53hl/hl in 2012 to 3.47 hl/hl in 2013 • CO2 emissions per hectoliter of production fell to 12.3 kgCO2/hl in 2013 representing a 1.7% improvement versus 2012. On June 13 SUN InBev opened a new water treatment system at Osmk brewery. Based on the principle of anaerobic reactor, the system is able to purify water and produce biogas helping save approximately 1 million cubic meters of natural gas per year.
