Better World Initiatives
Responsible Drinking
On Global Be(er) Responsible Day, we used the motto “18+” to convey the message that
beer sales is prohibited to those under the legal drinking age. Supported by our flagship
brand Siberian Crown, our initiative encouraged beer retailers to be diligent in only selling
beer to consumers over the legal drinking age. AB InBev employees in collaboration with
local officials and the media visited various retailers encouraging them to be responsible
sellers. Over 1400 volunteers distributed 200, 000 materials in 50,000 POCs.
Environment
In 2013, our team in Russia continued to improve their environmental performance and
contrbuted to AB InBev’s 2017 global environment goals:
• Improved recycling of our waste and brewing byproducts from 98.62% in 2012 to
99.33% in 2013
• Reduced water usage per hectoliter if production from 3.53hl/hl in 2012 to 3.47 hl/hl
in 2013
• CO2 emissions per hectoliter of production fell to 12.3 kgCO2/hl in 2013 representing
a 1.7% improvement versus 2012.
On June 13 SUN InBev opened a new water treatment system at Osmk brewery. Based on
the principle of anaerobic reactor, the system is able to purify water and produce biogas
helping save approximately 1 million cubic meters of natural gas per year.
