Musical Habitats Image: La Trobe University Since the late 1800s, large parts of the Murray Mallee have been cleared for towns, roads and farms, leaving less habitat for native animals to live in. The biggest threat today is FIRE. When large areas of remaining mallee are burnt there is less habitat for the birds to live in. Climate change, drought and introduced animals also make life harder. Write about what you learnt from the Musical Habitats game and The Wing Thing page, ‘Why are these birds threatened?’
