Since the late 1800s, large parts of the Murray Mallee have been
cleared for towns, roads and farms, leaving less habitat for native
animals to live in. The biggest threat today is FIRE. When large areas
of remaining mallee are burnt there is less habitat for the birds to
live in. Climate change, drought and introduced animals also make
life harder.
