On 7-13-2013 I observed Catalino Varela at 218 Hazeldean Dr. I was aware that there was
an active warrant for his arrest. I made contact with Varela and the warrant was
confirmed through the communications center. Varela was placed into handcuffs which
were double-locked and checked for fit. Varela was transported to Scotts Bluff County
Jail without incident. The warrant was for failure to appear on charges of theft.

I responded to Cross's residence on a call from him that his girlfriend, Ruiz, was not
letting him go to sleep. On arrival Cross had a bloody nose and stated that Ruiz had
been assaulting him. Witnesses confirmed that both Ruiz and Cross had been assaulting
each other and it was decided that both would be taken into custody for their parts.
While dealing with Ruiz Cross walked away against my direction. Ruiz was transported to
the Jail and a warrant will be sought for Cross's arrest.

On 7-20-2013 I observed Valerie Thorpe in the Zesto Trailer Court. I was aware that
there was an active warrant for her arrest. I made contact with Thorpe and the warrant
was confirmed through the communications center. The warrant was for failure to appear
on charges of 2nd degree forgery. Thorpe was placed into handcuffs which were double

On 7/21/13, I responded to 1621 14th Ave. where I had contact with George who told me
that sometime between last night and this morning, someone cut the leads off of his
welder in the back of his pickup. George advised that he had approximately 300 feet of
lead wire on his welder. George advised that his vehicle was parked at the Candlelight
Inn where he has been staying. George said that nothing else was missing. The lead
wires were cut with what appeared to be bolt cutters as the wire is approximately 3/4 of
an inch thick and made of copper. At this time there is nothing further and no suspects.

Service was requested at 1932 Ave P in reference to a reported theft of a set of lawn
solar lights from the front lawn of the residence. I met with Simon at the residence.
Simon advised the set consisted of approximately six lights. Simon did not know when the
theft had occurred, but felt it may have been within the last couple of weeks. Simon
described the lights as having a round top and the lights rotated through various colors.
At this time there are no know suspects or witnesses in this incident.

On 07/23/13 at 11:59 a.m. I was called to 1610 11th Av. for a report of a verbal
disturbance. After talking to several of the house occupants involved I continued to
have contact with Justin Guerra who was continuously yelling, hitting doors and trying to

While driving to the Scottsbluff Police Station to begin my shift I received a call from
Sgt. Krzyzanowski with the State Patrol. He advised that a Trooper had a vehicle pulled
over on the 2500 block of 6th Avenue and was requesting a K-9 Sniff. After approval was
granted by Sgt. Straub I met the Trooper on the 2600 Block of 6th Avenue. Once I arrived
and got PSD Riki out of the back of the vehicle the driver handed the Trooper something.
I was then told that when the driver saw me arrive on scene he handed him a marijuana
pipe and a search of the vehicle was conducted when another Trooper arrived. The vehicle
did not have license plates but yet In Transits. Nothing further.

On 7-25-2013 Officer Hansen was notified of a possible location for Andrea Janis. There
were five active warrants for her arrest. Officer Lopez and I made our way to 1018 16th
Avenue. Here we located Andrea Janis. The warrants were confirmed through the
communications center. The warrants were for four counts of minor in possession, driving
under the influence, disorderly conduct, and open container. The warrants are attached
to this report. Janis was handcuffed which were double locked and checked for fit.
Janis was transported to Scotts Bluff County Jail without incident.

SPD was advised of a valid warrant for the arrest of Edwin Janis. Janis was located at
1018 16th Ave #12. The warrants were confirmed and juvenile probation was notified.
Juvenile Probation requested Janis be transported and house at the Scotts Bluff Juvenile
Correctional Facility. Janis was arrested without incident and left in the custody of
the Scotts Bluff Juvenile Correctional Facility. Warrants are attached to this report.

I was dispatched to E. Overland and 1st Avenue reference an intoxicated male. I proceeded
to the area, where I observed Anthony sleeping on the side walk in the 1300 block of 1st
Avenue. I made contact with Anthony, who was intoxicated. I advised Anthony on the
violation. Anthony produced a Nevada ID and said he is homeless, but working at local
fast food restaurant. Anthony opened his backpack to show me his work clothes at which
point I observed an open 750ml bottle of Jack Daniels. I placed Anthony under arrest due
to him being homeless and having Nevada ID only. I handcuffed, checked the handcuffs for
proper fit, and double locked the handcuffs. I transported Anthony to Jail on violation

On 07/26/13 at approximately 3:33 a.m., contact was made with a male identified as Derek
Lacrete (DOB 06/20/91) by his Connecticut ID card in the 600 blk E. 17th St. I checked
warrants for Derek through communications. Communications advised Derek Lacrete has a
warrant for his arrest out of Lincoln County. The warrant was confirmed. Derek was
handcuffed, double locked, and transported to County Jail.

On 07/26/2013 units responded to 1406 2nd Ave apt #1 regarding a female who was yelling
for help. When I arrived I made contact with Marisella Fuentes. Marisella stated the
male had left after punching holes in her walls. After an investigation I made contact

On the above date, I viewed a small truck speeding southbound on Broadway. I initiated
a traffic stop and had contact with the driver, Zacharia Zerrenner. After further
investigation, I determined that Zerrenner had been drinking alcohol. Zerrenner
consented to a preliminary breath test showing a positive result for presence of alcohol.

On 07/27/2013, I was dispatched to the 500 block of W. 32nd St. regarding an injured
raccoon. When I arrived, I located the injured raccoon in the roadway. I used the net to
capture the animal and transported it to the empty lot north of the West Way Church where
I fired one round and terminated the animal due to its injury. I took the carcass to the
Humane Society and placed it in the carcass cooler.
