200 Ltr Drums & Plastic Tubs
The standard tank provides an adequate container mixing for most processing requirements in
industry, although for mixing liquids with high solids content, a high viscosity or a shear
sensitive product, the standard tank may be impractical. The rotation of the propeller makes the
fluid flow to the bottom of the tank and then up to the surface of the fluid along the tank wall
opposite to the wall to which the agitator is fitted. This effect is promoted if the bottom of the
tank is curved. Consider the container capacity, tank diameter, height and batch volume
Large 200 ltr barrels and 45 gallon oil drums come in both metric and imperial sizes, and the
diameter may differ by up to 10cm. All general barrel types can also be used for mixing, of metal
or plastic construction, if they are provided with a standard 2” screwed opening.
For barrel capacities from 60 to 220 litres a top entry mixer can be used on open top type
containers by the use of barrel clamp
