Overview
HIGHLIGHTS
Roger Whittall Safaris have been hunting in Mozambique
since 2007. They offer hunting in the enormous Niassa
district.
The hunting is mainly carried out as “spot and stalk”
hunting, where you start stalking your quarry on foot after it
has first been spotted from a 4WD vehicle. The terrain set
no real challenge to the hunters physical condition.
Breathtaking wilderness
A district with a great diversity of free living game
A chance to experience a safari just as they have
always been
The hunt is typically carried out as "spot and
stalk"
Accommodation is in a newly built camp with brick built
huts, erected on the banks of the bed of the dried out River
Nyamafunda, with fantastic views over the pristine bush.
This is a destination that solely revolves around hunting
and nature - here you are far from the stresses and strains
of everyday life.

HUNTING AREA - “Messala”
MESSALA
The hunting concession consists of over 500,000 hectares of
untouched wilderness in the northern part of Mozambique.
The district lies south east of the Niassa game reserve,
between the Messalo and Niorenge rivers which form its
northern and south eastern borders. The district is traversed
by enormous, volcanic rock formations called islandmountains, surrounded by open plains and miombo forest.
With sub-tropical vegetation and climate, and moderate to
high levels of rain, this district is home to large herds of sable
and is an outstanding habitat for elephant and leopard.
It is also possible to use fly-camps - especially if you wish to
penetrate further into the hunting district or track elephants
without wasting time on transport from the main camp. For this
purpose, there is a special trailer that can be coupled to the
hunting vehicle.
