A MESSAGE FROM MEEGAN HILL
Thank you
Thank you to each of you who thought of me as I faced my journey with the big “C”. It meant a lot
to me personally to receive your cards, best wishes and gifts at a time of uncertainty. ‘Flippin
heck’ what’s next, takes you on a roller coaster ride of highs and lows, which fortunately for me
ended on a high with the cancer gone and a monitoring regime in place. My personal experience
showed me that others’ thinking of me kept my spirits up and each time I had to face the lows,
you, my family and friends pulled me through for that little extra fight I needed. Sincerely, you
helped and I will remember with gratitude, always.
Opportunity to Support – Replacing plastic supermarket bags with bags
made from recycled material
A former student of ours, Jamie McDell – yes the famous singer, has contacted our school to ask
for our support in rummaging around in our linen cupboards for things that can be recycled into
shopping bags. This is the start of a community based project, originating in Australia, see http://
boomerangbags.org for full details. Once the recycled materials are collected from our school,
Jamie will organise it to be sewn into bags that can be used in supermarkets as replacements for
the plastic bags that never disintegrate. If you want to be a part of this project, please have a
look in your cupboards for anything that would be big enough to make a bag from and drop the
material into our Library. Just inside the Library door there is a white container, please place your
material in there and your good work is done. The container will be there for this week and the
first two weeks of Term 3.

2016 School Production
Parent Helpers Wanted! As with our Productions in the past, most of the preparation and hard work
put in behind the scenes is by students, teachers and parents. In order for our 2016 production to
be successful we once again need your generous support. Our Production will be held in week 6,
term 3 (29th Aug – 2nd Sep). If you are able to assist with any of the following tasks we would be very
grateful:

Sponsorship – are you a local business who can donate products, services or vouchers for us
to raffle off? We will include your logo on all programmes handed out on production night.
 Helping design, build and paint Props and Scenery
 Supervision of pupils backstage on the night/matinee performances.
 Make up - Can you provide make up?
 Make up - Support in applying it to all our cast for each performance.
 Costumes - material purchasing, designing and making

Hidden talents that would support us in our production
Please contact Aimee Kovacevic [email protected] or Jodi Yee [email protected] if
you can help with any of the tasks and/or if you have any questions regarding the Production.
