With the start of Easter term,
there is only one thing on a rower’s
mind besides exams: May Bumps.
With a stellar line-up in both men’s
and women’s first VIIIs as well
as exciting second boats, this year’s
May Bumps campaign is certainly
going to be one to keep an eye out for.

May Bumps 2013
‘The first time I rowed on
the river Cam in Cambridge
was with a Peterhouse crew.
Experiencing the high standard
of Cambridge University rowing,
I was pleasantly surprised by
my new boat mates’ intent and
motivation aiming at the May
Bumps, and I look forward to
a successful term of rowing
with them.’
–Milan Bruncvik, CUBC Crew
(2013), Czech Olympian (2012, 2008)
About
Support
Founded in 1828, the Peterhouse Boat Club
has always been a central part of college life.
It has provided an opportunity to every member
of college to experience the increasingly popular
disciplines of rowing, coxing and sculling,
ultimately aiming to improve the club’s standing
in the University Lent and May Bumps races.
As one of the smallest colleges in Cambridge,
Peterhouse finds itself challenging the largest
colleges on the river, with the men holding
7th position on the Cam in Lent Bumps and the
women making their way up the first division
in May Bumps.
Why not come support the Peterhouse crews this year? May Bumps
begins on Wednesday 12th June and finishes on Saturday 15th June.
Join the Peterhouse supporters on Grassy Corner on Saturday, followed
by a champagne reception in the Master’s Lodge for alumni at 18.45.
Please RSVP to [email protected].
The Boat Club also proudly sees a few
Petreans every year compete against Oxford
in the University Light Blue boats, as well as
frequently winning small boat races on the
Cam. Many who have been members of the
boat club in the past will remember the warm
social atmosphere that lies behind many pleasant
memories, and while they may no longer row
for Peterhouse, we would kindly invite them
to continue to take an interest and support the
current Boat Club towards further success.
Interesting in supporting the Boat Club further? We are very welcoming
to any sponsorship opportunities, ranging from a one-off gift to the boat
club fund to a full corporate sponsorship package. Please contact our
Development Officer at [email protected] for more details.
The Boat Club Committee would like to thank the
Development Office, Quentin Maile (photography)
and H2 Associates, Cambridge (design) for their
support in making this publication.
