Protection from Inclement Weather: Ideally a wall-mount
mailbox is located so that it is protected from snow, rain, and
strong winds. If possible, choose a location that is protected
by a wall, alcove, overhang, or other architectural feature of
your home.
Installation Height: Consider the wall mount mailbox installation
height from the perspective of both the homeowner and
the postal carrier. To comply with USPS regulations, you should
install your mailbox so that the bottom of the slot is at
least 30" above floor.
USPS Approval: If you want to install a wall mount mailbox in a
location that is different from your current
mailbox location, it is recommended that you obtain the
approval of your local postmaster to ensure that your
mailbox installation complies with USPS rules and regulations.
Protect the Keys: Store keys in a safe place until you are ready
to use them.
Installation Considerations: The recessed mailbox must be
affixed to wood or some other type of solid support.
If wall studs are not available at the location of the mailbox,
wood blocking can be installed behind the finished wall,
between the studs, using standard 2 x 4’s. We recommend
consulting a professional if you are unfamiliar with this type
of installation.

INSTALLATION
1. Mark the position of the mailbox. Hold the
mailbox in position, and use chalk to mark the
outline on the wall. Use the level to ensure the lines
are perfectly horizontal and vertical. Check the
location at the inside of the house and verify
there are no electrical wires or pipes in the way.
2. Create opening for mailbox. Ensure that the
rough opening is slightly larger than the metal box,
especially in the upper area of the opening. If the
rough opening is too small and the box must be
forced into the opening, it may press on the sheet
metal box and interfere with opening the brass flap.
Wood or paneled exterior walls:
Line up the blade of the circular saw on the chalk line.
Adjust the blade to the deepest depth. Turn on the
saw and push down on the trigger to start the blade.
Run the blade carefully over the chalk line, moving
around the entire perimeter.
Push down firmly until the blade of the circular saw
has gone through the exterior wall around the entire
perimeter.
Remove the wood or paneling by hand. Wipe away
any excess debris and dust with a clean rag.
Masonry:
Attach a masonry drill bit to a circular saw and line
up the blade of the saw on the chalk line. Adjust the
blade to the deepest depth. Turn on the saw and
push down on the trigger to start the blade. Run
the blade carefully over the chalk line, moving
around the entire perimeter.
Push down firmly into the brick until the blade of
the circular saw has gone through the brick around
the entire perimeter. Use a hammer and chisel to
dislodge the mortar connecting the pieces of brick
together.
Remove the loosened brick by hand, beginning with
the bricks in the center of the hole. Wipe away any
excess debris and dust with a clean rag. Dampen
the rag and wipe down the opening again.
3. Drill holes in the back of the mailbox. Drill screw
holes into the back of the mailbox near the top
corners. Drill two more holes near the side edges,
about halfway down the sides. Be sure to position the
holes so that you will be able to access them from
the front of the mailbox to affix the mounting screws.
4. Drill screw holes. Hold the mailbox in place in the
wall opening. Use a pencil to mark the drill holes on
the wall studs or wood blocking behind the mailbox.
Remove the mailbox, and drill pilot holes at the
marked locations.
5. Mount the mailbox. Hold the mailbox in place.
Insert the mounting screws and tighten them until
the mailbox is secure. Apply silicone around the
screws to seal the drill holes.
