Mountain View Village Eagle Statue Presented to Mayor Bill Applegarth Replica of the eagle statue planned for community fountain gathering area Riverton, Utah (March 15, 2017) -- Following today’s ground-breaking ceremony at the Mountain View Village site in Riverton, CenterCal chief executive officer Fred Bruning presented Mayor Bill Applegarth with a replica of the custom-designed eagle statue that will be installed in the fountain area at the new development. Standing 25” high and with a wingspan of 32”, the cast bronze eagle statue is the work of renowned sculptor Brian Keith. The eagle is shown in a protective stance, honoring those men and women who protect their communities -- police, firefighters and National Guard. Currently in process, the full size eagle statue’s progress can be followed online at the artist’s studio by visiting his website at www.briankeithsculpture.com. “We wanted to show our respect and appreciation for those who continually put their lives on the line to protect our communities,” noted Bruning. “We also commissioned Mr. Keith to design and create three sets of Challenge Coins, presented today to leaders from the police and fire departments, as well as the National Guard. The Challenge Coins are a unique way to honor, recognize and encourage inspirational conduct within those groups who protect and serve their communities. Each branch will be given a set of 96 Challenge Coins that can be presented to servicemen and women to commemorate their special or impactful acts of service in their communities. They will be treasured by those who receive them, and large replica Challenge Coins will be included on the base of the final eagle statue.
